  Item: Yugoslavian M-48 Mauser
  The Yugo Mauser M48 is a fine addition to any marksmen's collection. Although there are several types of ammo available I find the "198gr SWAT" round to work best for me. At 100yds with iron sights I shot 2 1/2" groupings, at 250yds,(limits of my eye sight) I shot 4 3/4" groups. Being former military may have helped my marksmanship, but I believe anyone who knows their way around a rifle could do the same. I've heard others speak of the bolt being "sticky" but that does not seem to be the case ...

  The Yugoslavian M-48 Mauser rifle shot well with some heavy surplus. 1.5 inches at 100 were more than satisfactory for me with the iron sights. More than I can ask for from most new weapons. All types of ammo that was shot, ran well, and ejected quite well. Excellent. This rifle was well made. It was cleaned out, and oiled. All of this was done rather easily. All numbers matched.   Shot high at 100 yards. Installed a high front sight and filed it down till it was on at 100 yards with bottom hold.

  Item: Mauser SP66
  If you collect sniper rifles, this is a great one; if you just want an accurate rifle, get a custom job that will outshoot this gun all day long and cost a few thousand less.

  The M48 is a very good rifle. Wood finish is a little rough. Great improvement to sand with 200 grit then 150. Finish with 0000 steel wool. Apply a high quality tongue oil finish. Let dry go over with steel wool and repeat till desired
