The following is a letter that I recently sent to Samsonite's HQ, do I expect to hear anything ? I don't know. The reviews I have read here re: warranties and poor customer service are absolutely correct IMO.
"Samsonite cases demand a premium (top price) based on the quality of build, strength, durability etc. There is good reason why suitcases are designed and built with strength and durability in mind as they will always be subject to rough handling by airport baggage handlers, taxi drivers, bellboys etc. all over the World. It is evident from the attached photographs that this particular Samsonite product was not up to the task and consequently Samsonite should accept responsibility and liability and replace the damaged goods under the warranty.
If you wish to discuss this matter further my contact details are:"
I bought this medium sized spinner for $300 2 years ago and yes it has been used quite a bit (at least 5 times) even so I bought on the basis of Samsonite's claim that it could "handle anything that you can throw at it" and the warranty.
The warranty contains many exclusions, one being damage caused during air travel, it's almost impossible to believe.
