There may be approximately 67 bazillion sites out there that aim to help you find restaurants or bars in your neighborhood, but Yelp seems to be the only one that consistently, reliably offers in depth information about pretty much everything you could possibly be compelled to want to consume/buy. Using the search function for keywords that pop up in user reviews is a great way to find stuff that you just can't get from Google (24-hour breakfast tacos). Also, user reviews are super helpful with notoriously tricky businesses such as auto maintenance or orthopedic doctors. Only shortcoming is that it doesn't exist in some foreign countries...

This review needs to be filtered as per Yelp's Robot. This sound like Yelp has paid some one to write it and has no merit to it. Yelp needs to be pride of American and not a site where only negative people are welcome. An honest balance is what is healthy for consumer not the greed to sale advertisements.
I am glad to see a sight to review Yelp and show how dirty practices they run. God Bless America

I wrote that comment and I stand by it. I have never worked for Yelp, nor have I ever received a penny from them. I dont know a single person who works with or is connected to Yelp in any way. I just like their model and think it works well.
