Great magazine but bad corporate culture. Outside presents a great culture, but it is so disappointing to find them assuming that I'll want to subscribe forever and keeping a death grip on my credit card number. I guess at their heart they are no different than any other greedy publishing agency.

Outside is a great magazine which we really enjoy reading in our household. This review is to share the areas where Outside needs to improve. Skip the travel and hotel segments covering luxury options that are priced well beyond the average reader's budget. Not sure who the audience is for those pieces. I don't think the folks who are up for $1000 a night vacations are looking to Outside magazine to get travel info. The other feedback is on coverage of women. The women's issue was painful. Don't take one issue and cram coverage of a bunch of women in. What was the thinking there? We don't cover many women over the year so we will throw a bunch into one issue? Increase coverage during the regular year. Add more full length cover stories during the year featuring women. Integrate coverage of women in (and gear for them) during the regular year.

Outside magazine has been an incredible source of information on outdoor activities and equipment for years. 1-I'd love to see a greater diversity of locations when featuring stories on towns/regions--there is an imbalance towards the western US. Outside needs to do a better job at seeking out lesser known outdoor meccas not yet reported on since they're a source for so many adventurers. 2- Resubsribed end of '17, but online Buyers Guide access reward provided outdated '15 Buyers Guide.

I previously had a subscription years ago. Sadly, over the course of 3 years I had several moves to where I could NOT have a subscription. Now that I am finally settled I have restarted my subscription. This magazine is full of interest hiking, camping, biking, etc. but more importantly very interesting people that modern media will not cover. I cannot wait for the first magazine to come in to get immersed in the lifestyle i have been longing for. Of course there are topics covered that I do Not have a initial interest in but after reading a couple paragraphs I have found an appreciation for what was being described. All in All a wonderful magazine and totally wish I had an opportunity to be involved with such a fantastic magazine.

I picked up the 40th Anniversary Edition of Outside to read on trip we were about to take to Maine. I love watching the Outside channel on Sling TV, so I thought I'd give the magazine a try. I am so glad I did! The articles are fantastic!!! The writers take you on a fabulous journey, through many different experiences and emotions. I am amazed at the quality of writing and storytelling. I am hoping that the 40th Is the norm and not the exception, because I purchased a two year subscription.

OUTSIDE is such a valuable resource in extending my knowledge as an outdoorsman. I love sharing the cleverly written articles with my friends and colleagues to further their own understanding of the outdoors. As OUTSIDE continues to publish, I also admire the fact that they acknowledge that the wilderness is nothing to be taken lightly and should be taken seriously. I'm always excited to read more! I'll see you out there.

I have just renewed my subscription, if you check your records, I have been getting Outside for over 30 years ,the best magazine I ever got . It has changed over the years, but the writers are the best. Great reading, thanks.

I've enjoyed your magazine for ~30 years. My only complaint is your address label. Most magazines currently use a glue/adhesive that easily peels off and leaves no residue. I like to remove the address label so that I can read all the print and see the picture on a magazine cover. Your label adhesive removes part of the magazine cover and leaves a sticky mess that I have to cover over with scotch tape. Time to upgrade Outside!

After buying the magazine sporadically for years, I committed and bought a membership a year ago - and have been under-whelmed. This is not the magazine I remember for long, in-depth, character based stories of harrowing adventures. It seems like most cover stories are now devoted to semi-clad male models/athletes and many of the articles are light, lifestyle pieces without a strong story component. The occasional, more substantial fare, like this months Cliff-Hanger and the recent story of the Darien Gap made me decide to renew my membership - but without much enthusiasm. Hoping to see more stuff I can sink my teeth into - in the coming months.

The magazine is excellently written, and the photography is fantastic. The theme is a bit too "millennial" for a guy my age (73...), but I enjoy it none-the-less. I have taken the advise of the reviewers of some products and bought several things, which have been as reviewed, generally. I think that the articles on cities that are the most endowed with outdoor activity opportunities are pretty accurately described. I am a serious back-country skier and like the article about skiing products and locations.

I love Outside. Unlike other magazines, the articles are always fresh, informative and interesting. The only complaint I have is while women read this magazine, the articles don't reflect that fact. No need to change the format, the articles or the advertising as the content of Outside is excellent. Perhaps the authors could write from a perspective or athletes in general rather than from the perspective of a male athlete (unless it is a specific gender related article).

I was just re-ordering a subscription for my son as a gift. I wanted to order a 2 year subscription. It said I would be able to chose the subscription I wanted on the next page.........only choice was a 1 year subscription. I went back and started again.....still same thing. What a bad business decision to have such a poorly working website for orders.

Overall I felt the whole subscription process was flawless and pain free. The magazine is always a great read and I am excited for my delivery of their next issue. The only flaw I found was not being able to request this months current issue. My sister called me from Utah just to make sure I read it, and I will most likely have to go to a news stand to pick one up. Just a suggestion your team might want to add.

Received the magazine as a Christmas gift (At my request) several years ago. Unfortunately, this magazine is for the younger set. Us older folks (pass 60-65) need a similar magazine. . PS Got my son hooked on the magazine after passing mine onto him

Overall, Outside Magazine is good with lots of diverse topics & sports, & the characters participating in them. You feature athletes of all ages. What we folks here in Idaho resent is you announcing the "Ten Best Places to Live," and some of those places are in Idaho! We don't need more people cluttering up the place! Please stop spreading the word that Idaho is a beautiful place to live. It's a great place to visit...then please go home! If you are a Republican, then this redneck state is the place for you! It's 50th (the bottom) for what the Legislature is willing to spend on its students. They don't believe in gay rights. Private property for purchase is quite high because most land is state & federally owned... a real plus since the state is valued for its outdoor recreational aspect. Outside received only 4 stars for this reason alone.

I placed an order for a 12 month subscription over two months ago. Have not received a single issue, they never sent me my iPad edition that was supposed to be emailed to me within 24 hours. Zero customer service.

I purchased a 2 year subscription for a Christmas gift. In April my brother in law told me he had never gotten an issue. I went to the website to try to find a phone Number to call and there wasn't one posted on website, only emails. I emailed the customer service dept. on April 26, 2014. As of today I STILL have not gotten an email response and my brother in law still hasn't received a magazine! Horrible customer service!

Suggestion: Have the ability for multiple gift subscriptions on your internet order page. It makes it easier for people to spend money with you
