Found a copy at the doctor's waiting room while waiting 2 hours for my spouse. Wow factor plus 100 per cent. Read it cover to cover. Magnificent readers' photographs, so beautiful and...dangerous? Great features and spicy tidbits: see page 14, Research Department "someone's got to do it" of October 2012 issue. SO funny. Had to subscribe. This publication is refreshingly different. Advertising a bit intrusive but that's how mags stay in business. Enough of a quibble? (read more)

The engaging articles, captivating photos and real life first person experiences are enticing to the point that we can't put this down. It has been the perfect incentive for a teen with multiple disabilites to engage in reading and be inspired from lethargy to try new outdoor activities and equipment. It informs and educates and inspires on multiple levels. Can't wait to see the new year's publication unfold and to refer this magazine to other individuals, parents and families. (read more)

I love the fact that there are product reviews, town reviews and a diverse grouping of editoral pieces. Layout is like Wired...packed with things to uncover. So, I am looking forward to a year of this and will come back in to let you know whether or not you convinced me to go to Africa or wherever. Can't believe this mag has escaped my literary landscape. But, I am on board now. (read more)

The Librarians had placed, "The Best of Outside, the first 20 years," on display and I grabbed it up. I haven't put it down since I checked it out, what with the wonderful stories that people from the magazine have told years ago. Based on the strength of these outdoor stories and the eloquence, humor, and honest human emotion I read within I ordered my husband the magazine for Christmas. (read more)

Ive been getting outside for 20 years. Stopped getting it a few times because I was discouraged with changes. They used to have a lot more mountaineering articles and would inform you of new outstanding climbers. Great feature writers like The Hard Way by Mark Whatwashislastname. The issues I dread now are the 20 best places on the planet to....hike..masturbate...luxuriate....only 500.00 a night....etc.......some of which WERE....cool places until everyone was told about them and resorts... My 16 year old loves it. I read it after him. One of the best magazines - you don't have to rip pages out or articles - as nothing is offensive. The only one critique we have is sometimes the magazine will have an advertisement for shoes/tennis etc and we can't find them on the internet. One time we looked for day for a particular shoe that was advertised to finally discover the shoe was pulled from the market. (read more)

I just ordered this magazine for my husband who is very outdoorsy. He bought the magazine while on a trip to read on the plane. He ended up reading it from cover to cover several times. He said it has wonderful information and would enjoy having it mailed directly to him each month. The information is something to remember not just read and forget. I loved the great deal the magazine was running on their website, free waterbottle, 2 free buyers guides, 2 free downloads, and a year... (read more)

I use the term classical because the meterial contained in your magazine is somthing use and enjoy, not somthing to be red and forgotten. The photography is beautifly discriptive. I injoy the articals, not all, but who can? I have discovered new and unique equipment and found some junk but all in all I missed your magazine and am varry glad to have it back again. (read more)

It has great vacation, health food and exercise ideas. The pictures are excellent and some of the stories about peoples live are eye opening. An article on advances in medicine that causes the body to excercise without actually doing anything was greatly enjoyed. I never that there was hang gliding in the Himalaya's with the aid of thermal drifts. The outdoors are really something. I haven't always been a believer but am now. I still don't like to camp. Thanks for scholarship! I just... (read more)

I discovered Outside at my tanning salon. I was so enraptured with it that I stayed after I tanned to finish the articles. The story on the couple that dropped everything and started a rescue for chihuahuas and other abandoned or impossible to place dogs in the back country particularly stole my heart. I woke up today thinking about poor Igor who died but had the incredible mystical experience of being accepted by a dancing coyote. It truly captured a true understanding a love of... (read more)

I have been a subscriber of Outside Magazine for many years, I enjoy the vast majority of articles. My wife and I have two children who have graduated college owing no money. They are both in graduate school at this time. What I do not need from Outside Magazine are recommendations to resorts that cost $500.00 per night. I cannot afford to be flown in by helicopter and I cannot afford silk sheets on a nightly basis. I wish that I could afford that type of lifestyle, I want articles... (read more)

I started reading this magazine when someone brought their old copies in to work. I have just started my own subscription because I found myself referring back to it over and over. I am an 'outdoorsy' type and have been curious about getting into some other outdoor activities but was unsure about how to get started with proper gear, brands, or even good places to go to do them. The articles, product reviews and some of the editorials in 'Outside Magazine' really gave me a lot of really... (read more)
