“Appalling, slow, and unresponsive”

Unfortunately, I had no choice but to user this organisation, as it was part of the remortgage with Clydesdale Bank. “Disgusting, lazy, ”

Contact mostly by email. If you phone it's often an answer phone message. Premium rate phone number. If you email, it states 24 hours to get back to you. Totally disorganised office. No contact to say of any issues unless you contact them. Then finally send messages to say there is outstanding paper work. I had sent it twice. They are worse than ever. This is a 'mortgage bucket shop' and obviously works on the basis that the lenders use them. I have never used such a terrible 'legal' service with such high costs for messing you about. There standards of checking documents that they issue is lamentable. They set rules or suggest that the rules are set by lenders which Government institutions such as the Land Registry say are unnecessary. Junk outfit. Avoid like the plague

A simple re-mortgage has taken far longer than it should have done. "Solicitors" only by name. These guys just can't be bothered and I am not sure how much longer they will sustain their complete disregard for their customers. Don't even ask for an apology. “Forced to use Optima but shocking handling of a remortgage”

I recently remortgaged a rental property I own and was forced to use Optima as they were the solicitors chosen by the mortgage company. They are slow to complete simple conveyancing and if you have any issues good luck trying to speak to anyone on the phone. I finally managed to get hold of someone but they offhand and just made the issue more complex. I had no choice in using Optima Legal, as they were the company NatWest chose. They were pleasant enough on the phone, but incredibly slow to act and rarely followed through on anything in a hurry. The most infuriating thing though, was the way in which, having already supposedly lost two items of post, they refused point blank to send anything either registered or signed for. the service started good then my case got a bit complicated where i had to get another solicitor involved. once things were sorted trying to get them to move my mortgage forward was horrendous. We applied for a remortgage with Natwest and were told that it included free legal , with optima legal . I can't stress enough to stay away from this company, as soon as you see there's a hold up just find your own solicitor, it may cost you a few hundred pounds to complete the remortgage but it's better than the stress and delay optima will cause . “Extremely inefficient”

Lloyds Bank use this firm for remortgages. It has taken 4 months to complete a very straightforward remortgage. They take ages to reply to emails, and despite promising completion failed to complete on the date set for no apparent reason. Changed my mortgage to NatWest who use optima for their legal services. When they transfered the money from the bank to pay my advisers, instead of sending a cheque to them (at no cost) they got NatWest to send the money by BACS to them incuring a fee of around £35, then they split the fee into two BACS payments, sending half to my wives account and the other half to my account. In total They took out 3 BACS charges meaning that i had to then find around another £105 to pay my mortgage… Read Full Review
