“Lovely table and chairs”

Written on: 28/03/2015 by 280Somerville (1 review written)

The Rustic Jacobean oak table and Chelsea Leicester dining chairs I bought from Wren are of excellent quality. They look superb in my kitchen diner. The service I received instore was brilliant - helpful but not pushy. The furniture was delivered on a date and at a time that suited me and the delivery men were helpful and efficient. I'm very impressed by the whole experience. Thank you, Wren - it's refreshing to see a company that's got its customer service right!… Read Full Review

“disgusted”

Written on: 26/03/2015 by christinefeltham (1 review written)

I am disgusted with the plan and some of the units. Looks great until you start using. Drawers are showing wear marks and I only had this fitted on Friday 20 march today is the 25 March. Designer showed wall units in the plan which on looking seemed ideal but when in place dangerous. He did not allow that on the wall would be fine but with no work top underneath there would be no protection regarding hitting your head when getting near. I am not a fitter and I relied on so called experience… Read Full Review

“Very poor communication”

Written on: 26/03/2015 by GuyBeattie (1 review written)

I explained the complexity of my kitchen and was told it was no problem at design stage. I paid for removal of old kitchen, supply and fitting of new kitchen, electrical and gas certification and removal of rubbish. I removed all the old kitchen myself, I fitted shelves in 3 of the units supplied. I had to box in the area that I explained was the complexity of my kitchen. The designer did not include the cost of the fitting of the work tops. The fitters were going to leave the gas hob… Read Full Review

Dear GuyBeattie.

We are sorry for your comments and we would like to help you and investigate this further.

At Wren, we supply a 'dry fit' service as part of our Installations and any additional works are co-ordinated with the fitter direct however if you can supply an order reference we can look into this in much more details and also help chase up anything that is outstanding for you.

Kind regards

Hi Wren kitchens, many thanks for your prompt response. This is the first time I have heard the term "Dry fit", and this is not how it was sold to me.
I would welcome your looking into the issues that I have outlined above and would appreciate any response you can give me. My order number is 21711450. I look forward to hearing from you.

“After Care Not great and really should be better”

“Top class furniture”

Having taken delivery of my beautiful new furniture and had a decent look over it I am very impressed. This isn't an easy task as I used to build top end furniture for a living and even travelled the world plying my trade. I still can't quite believe the amazing quality of wrens rustic range, the only thing better than the quality is the price,I really don't know how they can sell for such a low price! Having a quartz worktop installed to find out hob won't fit in!! Hi,

Please supply us with your unique order details so we can locate your order and see if we can assist you with the issues you have listed.

Our designers undergo full training on our products and services before working in the showroom as kitchen planners therefore please refrain from writing comments that are opinion rather than fact.
In regards to the 'directors' in which you refer to, we believe this to be our team at Head Office who deal with claims, only after a fit has been completed.

However we have a dedicated complaints team who deal with on going issues.
We are sorry if this was not more clear before.

Kind Regards,

I am currently in dealing with several members or wren as this is an ongoing issue with several mistakes that keep occurring due to wren.

I would say this would be fact as none of your designers picked up on any of the design faults that we have came up against. Yes this is my opinion, however this is a review of wren of which I the customer have the right to comment on my experience so far.

It is also your staff in your branches that have told us its the "directors" that deal with complaints. This is where I have got my information from.

Ordered kitchen from Huddersfield. The man to measure came to measure. On 3rd Oct kitchen arrived few items missing. They are now ordered. On 6th Oct our joiner came found out that the kitchen was incorrectly measured one base unit less . The order for worktop, oven, hob and units was £6,971 . Not cheap. The manager said it was our fault as the joiner should have checked within 21 days after order. We were away till 27th Sept. The joiner has 30 years experience.
On 6th Oct The Manager at Huddersfield store asked for a further payment of £250 for the base unit wall unit and worktop. It was their error.
The joiner removed gas and oven anticipating no complication. We are without any cooking means. After many calls to the duty manager as the Manager failed to notify us he was on holiday for 2 wks even though he promised he would ring us on the 7th.The guy that mesured the kitchen is also on holiday!.
We asked for additional base units for other wall. We were informed to wait till kitchen fitted and then we could order at same price. Few days later we were emailed that was not the case the price would be lot higher.
We paid £250 on 7th Oct 2014 as we wanted the kitchen completed ASAP. Our joiner is now booked so we have a problem as we are told the base unit etc will be delivered on the 17th Oct. Then the template for worktop will be organised. After that it will be up to 10 days for it to be fitted. The whole experience has been a nightmare. We will be without a fitted kitchen for at least 6wks. Wish had gone to [Ext.Ref.] or else where. We have had to pay extra and have all this inconvenience and stress when [Name] measured it incorrectly. It is not fair. We will not recommend wren.
Update the wall unit came was again incorrect measurement 600 instead of 900. our joiner charged us £300 extra for his time wasted. 10th Dec. we were told that their representative would come to inspect the faulty tap and unit.after a month. informed that this would not be the case as we didn't have it fitted by their joiner, even though Deputy manager has been to inspect the kitchen facilities in Nov. They could not even get my phone number correct even after I informed then on numerous occasions causing further delay . The initial mistake was they [Name] measured the kitchen incorrectly we wanted a bigger kitchen but it was a metre short . They say we should have checked his measurements. When a "reputable " company cannot measure correctly why should we be liable for their errors. The answer is that it states so in the terms and conditions. firstly we were not given the opportunity to read the same. merely asked for a signature. and secondly the terms and conditions are written in such small print makes it nearly impossible to read. We completed the complaints form in Nov and they have the audacity to offer us £100 compensation. 6 weeks of stress and inconvenience. consequential losses to joiner and the electrician. take- aways, (I am a diabetic) journeys to the store numerous calls. as they did not call back when promised.
I will be pursuing this until a satisfactory outcome is obtained. They have given us 14 days to accept the offer. I have contacted Barclays as Under section 75 The tap is not fit for purpose. The sale of goods Act also applies. All I want is matter to be rectified asap. I do not deserve this terrible ordeal. I will be contacting the Ombudsman also. It is a matter of principal . I have paid £6943 for a kitchen that does not meet my standards .
In response to Wren. The tap is faulty not the fitting. All I am asking is that someone comes to inspect the tap as was promised in Dec. your excuse for not doing is feeble . All I want is to resolve this dispute amicably and be compensated for the consequential losses as informed by the trading standards. In your email you are requesting invoices for costs . I have already forwarded the joiner's additional cost due to your companies incompetence. I did not save receipts for meals as I was not informed at the time to do so. I have submitted a breakdown of expenses etc.
Firstly you measure the kitchen incorrectly then send the wrong wall unit. light and other items missing. it's been one mistake after another. I have recordings of the conversation taken place which I will forward to Barclays etc, Awaiting a response from them. I have proof that the manager did not wish to speak to me and refused to try to resolve this dispute, It is not merely about the finance loss but a matter of principal.
I have given Wren the measurements for the damaged cupboards awaiting their response. They have refused to replace them except one. Barclays stated that the tap if quality issue and to go the manufactuer .We paid wren for it.
The whole experience is making me unwell It has been on going from Sept 2014. I have now emailed Wren to accept their offer as I want closure on the matter as Financial Ombudsman have said it will take 6 weeks even to start the investigation.! There is no justice .

A_Cowan's Response to col1980's Review

Written on: 25/03/2015

It is interesting to note that of the 588 reviews posted, 287 of them were 1 to 3 star rated which equates to 44% of your customers having an average experience or being less than satisfied with Wren's perceived 5 star experience.

It is also concerning to observe that 187 of those customer reviews categorised their experience as the worst it could be - 1 star. This is 32% of your customers, or in layman's terms, more than 1 in 3 dis-satisfied customers that leave the Wren showroom having paid good money for a product they believed would be 5 star quality. This is a shocking statistic which is a true reflection of the company, not the 5 star image imparted to customers in the showroom.

Whilst my wife's review is emotionally driven, which you cannot blame her for, the crux of the issues are still pertinent. We have had faulty, damaged and dangerous goods delivered, we have had inadequate designs which require fundamental re-designing, we have waited nearly 3 weeks for a replacement fridge for the one which arrived damaged, we have been left without a dedicated project manager to see us through from start to finish meaning we are having to chase up issues ourselves.........just a terrible experience overall.

These are facts and whilst probably very uncomfortable for the company to read, they are still factual none-the-less. 1 star out of 5 is a very fair and honest assessment of our own experience, it is down to Wren and their management to ensure our experience is never repeated but based on the number of negative reviews, I sincerely doubt this is going to change.

My advice to anyone reading this review would be to make sure you compare kitchens and ask the opinions of local joiners and kitchen fitters who have experience of Wren. We were warned but gave Wren the benefit of the doubt which we truly regret.

Sincerely.

Mr Cowan.

The kitchen is really good the adviser and fitter were excellent but the after sales service is diabolical. Need some remedial work on kitchen work top. Waited ages before they could say if they would do the work. Then the replacement items were delivered a month a go. Keep phoning to ask when its going to be done. Last Friday had a garbled message on the answer phone with no name or number. Phoned to ask what the message was. Told they would have to get back to me. Nothing so rang today and… Read Full Review

“well made and sturdy kitchen units”

Written on: 20/03/2015 by Keithj057 (1 review written)

After reading previous reviews was a little dubious about purchasing Wren kitchens, found out there was nothing to worry about, the units (Designer Range,High Gloss White) were well made and delivered ready assembled and on time and with helpful delivery drivers. But back to the beginning, we were made welcome when we entered the store, and the designer was helpful and not trying to sell us something we didn't want and also listening to what we did want, there was no problem when we said we… Read Full Review

We experienced excellent sales service with the advisor being very helpful and friendly. The kitchen is of good quality and we are pleased with that. Fitted by our own tradesman. However I am so relieved that I didn't have major problems because once Wren receives your money they are no longer interested. Simples queries were not responded to and help refused. There after sales service was so poor that I would not recommend them to anyone. My sister was about to order a new kitchen and did not… Read Full Review

These cupboards were very reasonably priced, arrived promptly and were of very good quality. Although flat-packed these units were easy to assemble and resulted in solid cupboards that enhanced the newly redecorated bedrooms. Although adequate space in the units, they take up little space so leave the bedrooms looking spacious. All in all, a very good buy. “Diabolical customer service. ”

Written on: 17/03/2015 by Helenimoore (1 review written)

In all honesty, Wren kitchens are excellent quality and I love my kitchen, however, their after sales and customer service is diabolical. Our dishwasher caught fire after 11 months of service and the manufacturers want to repair. We have lost faith in the machine and brand and after seeking legal and consumer advise, we were told to push it back to Wren to speak to manufacturer on our behalf or agree to exchange themselves. 8 weeks later, Wren managers and head office staff are not returning… Read Full Review

Hi,

If you provide your order details we will urgently look at this. All we require is your order number to pinpoint your order and the store so you do not need to provide any private information.

We can't display a staff name and number on this open forum but want to address this as soon as possible.

Kind Regards
Wren Living

How can I urgently provide details if I have been given no contact details or names of who to pass this too? Again it's taken 3 days from when wren first replied to my post. All well and good replying to the post but it would be productive to put some substance to them. I'll wait to see how long it takes for these details to be provided.

Hi,

You can provide them on here and then we will action the request.

Alternatively you can contact us or ring the local store.

Once they are provided someone can call you but we are not going to write a staff members details on social media for their privacy and protection.

Thank you

We went back later and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kitchens. We arranged a time to go back and design the kitchen - the designer had already put together a plan prior to our arrival based on discussions when we made the initial enquiry and on the measurement visit - this saved time for us and was easy to change any aspect we wanted to. We were… Read Full Review
