“Avoid!!!”

Written on: 04/08/2015 by QuinnDonahue1946 (1 review written)

From placing our order to paying the balance in full the Neff appliances had been discontinued. We were offered the newline at the same price and temporary appliances due to the inconvenience. Shortly before delivery I was told no temp microwaves were available. When I received the appliances no steamer oven was supplied. I phoned the head office who were unable to confirm when I will receive any of my appliances and effectively said go elsewhere. I have the same colour scheme throughout my… Read Full Review

Dear customer

We apologise that you have been affected by a nationwide shortage of Neff appliances due to supply chain issues from their German factory. At Wren, we have been able to supply a number of temporary CDA appliances so that our customers are not left without any cooking facilities.

Regrettably this was an unforeseen event and we are liaising with the manufacturer regarding delivery dates however we rely on them to provide us with any progress on their deliveries. When the manufacturer has available stock they are calling the customer directly to arrange fitting of the current stock models.

As a new customer of Wren's, we were apprehensive of the finished kitchen installation. Everything went accordingly to plan and we are more than satisfied with the outcome. Every one from planner to installers were very professional. A timetable was planned and we were kept informed at all stages prior to installation. Well done to everyone. My only criticism is that 5 weeks on from installation, we are still waiting for 2 replacement sink plugs… Read Full Review

“Thrilled to bits with my new kitchen.”

Written on: 03/08/2015 by julia59 (1 review written)

I was very impressed with Wren from the moment I walked in. I could see straight away the good quality after other kitchens I had been looking at. The staff were all very friendly and not pushy at all. I was helped by a lovely lady who was so pleasant and patient. She came out the next morning to measure up and we then went back to the store and planned my kitchen. She took time to make sure I had exactly what I wanted. A provisional date for delivery was made as I was moving into a new… Read Full Review

As other with reviewers once the order has been placed don't bother with the store. Caught up in the fiasco Bosch microwave models going out of production. Tried to close out the order with some form of compromise and with installation now heading into it's 8th week but after many phone calls to them and promises of call not happening I am at the point of giving up and paying additional costs to complete myself. Already been in contact with your customer care center who have always provided an excellent service. Huge frustration with Swansea store being fobbed off and not returning call when promised seem to be happy to grab the commission off other peoples work. 8 weeks is beyond a reasonable period for a simple installation even with microwave issues. Will follow process as advise by customer care and avoid going to Swansea store.

“Avoid like the plague!”

Written on: 03/08/2015 by AmayaO'Grady105 (1 review written)

They delivered - within a ridiculous 5 hour window. My wife was upstairs when they called and did not hear them. They now want to charge us £35 to redeliver or £50 if we cancel. Most companies realise that customer experience is important and will try to deliver at least twice. Not this bunch. They want to eke out and extra £35. Well, I had intended to buy several more wardrobes and furniture (and maybe kitchen) if the wardrobes were as I hoped for. Not now. “Our Wren Kitchen”

We have found the whole experience from design to delivery very straight forward. The kitchen was delivered ahead of schedule and has fitted exactly to the measurements from the plans. All parts were delivered including a little extra plinth and cornice. Having fitted it ourselves we found it all went together well and having the carcasses ready built made a big difference. “Athol Gardens (kitchen)”

Firstly, the delivery was short a couple of items.. in as much as they appeared on the picture of what our kitchen would look like and on the measured design but somehow did not transfer onto the delivery manifest. In itself this was not an issue, the issue was that we had to wait 10 days for the units to be delivered. I cannot ask the kitchen fitter to wait 10 days until they appear so I had to let him go and then wait until the correct items were sent and re-book him in a very busy schedule… Read Full Review

We ordered a lovely Oak Table(sorry the name of the table escaped me)which if you go with the description is for 4-6 people but realistically you can sit about 8 people very comfortably. The quality of the table and the wood is brilliant. The Table + Chairs were very easy to assemble thanks to the good description sheet which was attached. Dear customer

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and we apologise that you feel that you have not received the service that we expect all customers to receive. It is important to know if we are falling below the standard therefore we thank you for bringing this to our attention.

You are entitled to seek advice from external sources regarding this if necessary, we also subscribe to The Furniture Ombudsman who provide a free of charge, impartial review of the case and provide a decision to which us, as a retailer will be bound.

We have a report from the designer that details that no quotes were ever raised for oak carcasses and there is no display in the showroom with the combination of the range of kitchen you chose with oak veneer carcasses. The range you chose states White carcass and not Oak throughout all documentation and therefore no mis-selling has taken place. You mention that the designer went through lots of detail including the lifetime guarantee with the screws (the Linda Barker cabinets do have) however all our oak drawer boxes, which is the nature of your complaint do not have screws and have dovetail joints.

We have also had a report from the Wren appointed installer who advised that at no stage whilst fitting the kitchen was it mentioned to him that this was an incorrect kitchen when there was ample opportunity to do so and allowed the installer to completely fit the kitchen prior to your complaint of this nature being received.

With this information we will not be replacing the kitchen as you have been provided with a Linda Barker kitchen and this is what has been installed for you in full. We will liaise closely with Barclays Finance on this matter.

Kind Regards
Wren Kitchens

Firstly thank you for providing the standard response as I have seen you make to all of youe bad reviews. ' You are sorry etc etc' No you are not sorry - you are an aweful company with serverly poor stanards of customer service.

In response to your aweful response above:

We have a report from the designer that details that no quotes were ever raised for oak carcasses and there is no display in the showroom with the combination of the range of kitchen you chose with oak veneer carcasses. The range you chose states White carcass and not Oak throughout all documentation and therefore no mis-selling has taken place. - Your so called designer told me i would be receiving oak drawers - So he is clearly trying to save his JOon by lying over and overe again. Your designer hasnt a clue what he is doing as proved by the consistent errors he has made (which i note you have chosen to igbnore yet again).

You mention that the designer went through lots of detail including the lifetime guarantee with the screws (the Linda Barker cabinets do have) however all our oak drawer boxes, which is the nature of your complaint do not have screws and have dovetail joints. - You learly think you are being clever here - well not quite - How are the handles arttached. I dodn nto specifaically say the drawers. So your attempt at sarcasm here falls very short of the mark.

We have also had a report from the Wren appointed installer who advised that at no stage whilst fitting the kitchen was it mentioned to him that this was an incorrect kitchen when there was ample opportunity to do so and allowed the installer to completely fit the kitchen prior to your complaint of this nature being received. - What is classed as ample opportunity? I asked if i needed to be there throughout the fitting - he said No (I do have this in writing to prove so that you canno insinuate yet again that we are liars) I did actually go to the property where the kitchen is being installed but was unable to look inside thecupboards that had been fitted as thee wereo handles on and I could not open them to check. So im unsure what ample opportunity means? As soon as it became apparent I made teh store aware. Your advisor agreed with me that it made no sense that your so called designer had sold me inserts for a wooden drawer if this was not what we would be havng??? So are your salesmen in the habit of selling products that are of absolutely no use to your customers??? Yet you say there has been no mis selling. I also have a message from the fitter in response to a comment i made that most of the staff at Wren appear to be 'numptys' confiriming his agreement. Even the poeple that do work on your behalf think you're rubbish!

With this information we will not be replacing the kitchen as you have been provided with a Linda Barker kitchen and this is what has been installed for you in full. . - I wil take this comment in place of a letter of deadlock and will be reporting your dsigusting behaviour to the ombudsman. Your saleman is quite simply a liar. He told me he had spoken to the designer who ' couldnt remember' the converstaion about the drawers - however now all of a sudden he appears to have had a total memory recall! How strange that is! Your sales tactiics are misleading - You showed me drawers that have 'LB' imprinted on them and told me thats what I would have - what you have actually supplied a drawers that say 'wren' on - not therefore a linda Barker Kitchen as sold to me by your incompetant member of staff. not at any point did he explain to us there were different choices of internals. A verbal sale as I understand it under the sale of goods act still stands and he is therefore guilty of misrepresentation.

You are the worst company I have ever encountered. Your service levels are shocking (that is once you have the cash). You took a our dreams and you turned them into a living nightmare. You should not be permitted to trade you are a disgrace as a company.

We will liaise closely with Barclays Finance on this matter. - AS prevsiouly confirmed he told me the finance agreement would not start until the kitchen had been completed - again i have this in writing from him. As neither a correct nor incorrect kitchen has. yet to be completed the 12 month period has not yet started

regards
An extermely upset and disgruntled customer

We were looking for a new kitchen and visited quite a number of competitor stores, but no one offered the level of service, knowhow, help and planning that WREN offered. Our designer helped us choose the units that would suit our needs and took note of certain requirements that we needed to be met. We eventually chose the Edwardian design in cream and a granite counter tops. From start to finish we were kept in the loop and at no time did we feel that our queries, however big or small was too much… Read Full Review

They had the January sale on at that point and offered a free home visit and design with no obligation. So we got one of the sales team out to measure up. Dear Mr Boardman

We have responded on another social media platform already with the following information:

"Dear Mr Boardman

Please accept our apologies for the issues that you have experienced surrounding your kitchen order with Wren Kitchens. We apologise for the fact that the designer offered to provide a free unit from his mum's kitchen and this did not materialise in time for the main kitchen delivery, we understand that this was supplied however shortly after as the designer left Wren, however we honoured this agreement for you.

We cannot confirm whether the designer had a conversation about the level of extra works that would be required however this is something that only an installer would be able to advise. We are happy to hear that the installer was able to negotiate this price however all our installers are qualified to ensure that the correct level of supplementary works are undertaken for each kitchen installation. This work does not form part of the Wren contract, this is a separate contract that is between you and the installer and therefore you were only no obligation to carry out this work with them and were free to use whomever you chose for this level of work.

The fitter highlighted to your Installation Co-ordinator when he started the installation, that 3 doors were marked and that there was a need for more tekwall profile however nothing that was seriously detrimental to the overall fit and whilst there were issues, this in no way was a situation that could not be rectified.

You note above that the installer stated that several mistakes to the unit sizes had been made by the designer and that he asked for changes; no changes were requested or required and we have never needed to order any different units up following prefit survey so do not understand how this conclusion has been met. A pre-fit survey is industry standard to ensure that the plan is adequate for the installation and only very small changes applied as above.

The "woman" you keep referring to is your Installation Co-ordinator who does a vital job in ensuring that you have a point of contact and we find the way that you have described our staff as derogatory. In the notes of your order, the Installation Co-ordinator was on hand regularly to assist with any queries and never left you without contact throughout the installation. Your Installation Co-ordinator did not book your delivery and was there to advise when it was scheduled in for. We are sorry for any inconvenience this did cause you.

The order summary clearly shows a 900mm clear glass splashback was supplied to you. The hob and chimney hood are 700mm wide, there is clearance either side of the hob/chimney hood and this splashback was supplied to be in line with where the wall units started also allowing for gas regulations. You state that the clear glass splashback was never picked however when dealing with your Installation Co-ordinator who looked into alternative suppliers, you asked for a clear glass splashback. You were given a refund for the one sold as soon as the item was returned to stock and this was actioned in April. Following this time, you were responsible for sourcing your own splashback however were never left without vital cooking facilities as you had the presence of an oven throughout.

The kitchen installation was finished in May of this year by email confirmation so this did take longer than planned and we thank you for your patience in this matter, you requested a claim form so that our Directors Office could fully investigate this and there offer is in full and final settlement based on the information you provided them.

Kind Regards
Wren Kitchens"
