“Wren have completely cocked it up!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Adams45 on 11/08/2016

Had to give 1 star in order to be able to review. But would give no stars. No service, no stars. Wren have completely cocked it up! What should we do now?
Today, 8/8/16, after starting the process on the 10th April this year, we found out that the kitchen that should have been delivered this coming Thursday, ready for fitting on Monday 15th, has not even been made!! Why? We have no idea other than it appears Wren have been totally incompetent in our case. Sadly, after discussing the problem with local tradesmen, who were at our house to carry out some necessary preparation work and from reading various forums, it would seem we are not the only ones experiencing this.
10/4/16 – signed up for the kitchen. Paid deposit asked for - which we are now told was an incorrect amount (their mistake, not ours). Agreed to pay (what I believe to be way over the going rate) to have kitchen fitted by a Wren fitter. Arranged dates with fitter. Arranged holiday, family visiting from abroad, our work schedules – you name it, we arranged it around having the fitting commence on 15th August. A few weeks ago, my partner had to go to Wren’s showroom, to complete forms that should have been completed months before. Even then, they got it wrong. A few days later I had to cancel work for an afternoon (I’m self-employed) and go in to re-complete the forms – the manager admitting that his colleague had been entering the wrong information, when my partner attended. Great! All done. Forms signed. Confirmation email pinged to my phone. Firm handshakes all round. But all completely meaningless. My partner receives the phone call while at work today, so she was limited in what she could say in reply. A call back to Wren’s when she got home yielded nothing more than a verbal apology and a promise to “escalate” our case. Whatever escalate means in Wren-speak, it doesn’t mean our kitchen will be arriving on Thursday as promised. It hasn’t even been made!!
Any advice from fellow sufferers? My inclination is to forget the whole thing, get our deposit back and go to a company that can deliver on promises.
