We ordered a kitchen through a recommendation from our builder.
The initial sales person was very patient. However, he insisted on giving us a price there and then - and in fact took 45 minutes to get to the figure. We said tell us in a few days that's fine, he insisted on a price.
We agreed to the price.
We paid the deposit.
We then had a few changes with the final surveyor. We then got a shock as they wanted more money despite us removing items
2 weeks before the kitchen was due to be in - and we were renting a house and had to be out - the MD of Optiplan calls to say he doesn't have enough margin in this and the price needs to go up by £2100.
he then concedes his initial sales guy must have got the price wrong. On being challenged he concedes it madness he pays an employee to give me the wrong price.
He says call me back by end of the day and I will give your money back tomorrow if you don't agree
My wife gets all upset, so I agree
Anyway, they deliver the kitchen, cost £41,000. They make you pay for the delivery of the kitchen, to the driver
They then fit the kitchen, but the boxes are left behind literally a mountain of rubbish
Builder then asks why he has to pay £360 for the skip? I ask Optiplan they say 'sorry its in your contract'
For goodness sake, surely in a £41,000 kitchen you need to make some concession?
For the price, this company is best avoided. The promise of bespoke end to end service is a myth. YOu can get easily as good service from magnet and save £15,000
best avoid Optiplan
