After grumbling to friends about the sorry state of my old kitchen, one of them suggested that I take a look at the Optiplan showroom in Swindon. It was several months before I got round to doing so having visited lots of kitchen showrooms in the meantime. My first impression was what a good variety of different styles are on show in what is not a huge area. Paul Scutts who designed my kitchen greeted me and asked me what I was looking for and then showed me some things that I never knew existed!! I left with some brochures about appliances having already received your brochure after visiting your website. I must say that the gallery of photographs on the website is fabulous. I particularly like the wide variety on show and the fact that you showcase the smaller kitchens as well as the dream variety. As I had mentioned to Paul that I wished to have Miele appliances, he gave me the very good advice which was to visit the Miele centre in Abingdon. When Paul came to do the initial survey I had been shopping around for the best deals on the Miele appliances but he offered to see if Optiplan could match them or do better which I'm delighted to say did happen. I also needed to have some building work done before the new kitchen could be installed and Paul recommended Bob Platek who does the installations at the Optiplan showroom in Swindon. Bob and his team were fantastic and so were your fitters, Darren and Martin who arrived shortly after the building work was completed. My kitchen is the high gloss finish Sorrento in walnut and cream with a Franke sink complete with boiling water tap and rettangolo lighting. The worktop is ivory quartz. It looks amazing and is so easy to keep looking good as it only needs a wipe over and a quick buff with a dry cloth. It really has the effect of stopping people in their tracks when they see it for the first time and my friend who suggested I take a look at Optiplan but herself went for a hand built one is sorry that she did!
I would also like to say how professional your staff have been. The surveyor for my kitchen was Carolyn Phillippo who had some good suggestions for alterations to the original design and despite suffering bereavement in the meantime, still managed to complete the revised plan so that my installation could go ahead on the agreed date. I am very grateful to her but would have been understanding if there had been a delay.
As I have said, I am thrilled with my kitchen and have recommended Optiplan to friends and neighbours. Inevitably there are always a few snags which need to be sorted out and again I haven't had any problems with this. A drawer and a door have needed to be replaced as the finish wasn't perfect but a telephone call to Diane Muir and that was sorted out too. So from start to finish I have been a very satisfied customer.
