Waste of Time

We asked them to provide a quote on a kitchen, they came round quickly and measured up and then rearranged to come back the following week with the plans and the final breakdown of costs.

On the day of the second visit I received a call asking whether I had the finances in place, I did not have a loan in place as I wanted to know the cost in the first place which was something they were meant to provide me that evening. Due to not having a loan already in place they told me that they were not prepared to show me the plans etc. They more or less inferred that I was wasting their time and could not afford their kitchen as I had underestimated the quote online, but I did advise them of that during my conversation with them that I had only estimated for the costs of the kitchen and not the building work, but they seemed not to listen to that.

To quote their reply to my initial complaint:
"Giving us a "stab in the dark" budget says to us you're are not committed as you should be"

Which is astonishing considering we were prepared to pay over £20,000, and is just an arrogant and patronising attitude that I experienced with them.

If they thought there was an issue with the initial budget that I originally put why did they not ring me prior to cancelling on that day, and also when I spoke to them and agreed that it would be a lot more then I originally estimated due to the building work that they still decided not to proceed with the second visit. I was not prepared not to get a loan until I had seen a full breakdown of costs and not a vague estimate that I was told down the phone of anywhere between £22,000 to 24,000, call me old fashioned but when I am spending that kind of money I want to know exactly what I am getting for it.

If this is how they treat potential customers I am very glad I did not proceed with them as their customer service and attitude is terrible.
