“Sofa and delivery ”

Sofa was delivered expertly this morning, arrived in the middle of our delivery slot despite road closure and bad weather. Drivers were polite and brought the sofa in very quickly with great efficiency. The sofa itself is brilliant, very comfortable and exactly what the room needed.

“A Staggering Mix of Incompetence and Arrogance!”

I used to be a very loyal customer of Leekes, but not any more . . . here’s why . . . (make yourself a cup of tea, this is a LONG list of serious problems!) Having spent around £10,000 in Leekes for a mix of furnishings, including delivery and assembly of all items, the following problems occurred: 1. Leekes forgot to deliver and fit the internal mirror for the wardrobe, then refused to return to fit it, leading me to have to fit it myself. Initially, they also refused to deliver the mirror, expecting me to collect it, even though I’d paid for delivery and fitting. 2. Delivered a damaged dining table twice, and then refused to return to assemble the third one. Once again I had to disassemble (because they had the cheek to ask for the damaged bits back!) and then reassemble the table myself at a time to suit their delivery drivers. It took 5 months after delivery of the first damaged table to get an undamaged one. 3. I pointed out the damage to the first dining table to the delivery driver, who refused to accept it was damaged despite it being plainly obvious, refused my rejection of the table, and just continued to assemble it. 4. Delivered an obviously damaged sideboard, then took 4 months to replace it. 5. Sold me curtains that turned out to be discontinued, and having taken full payment, then kept my money for 9 months without being honest about the curtains being discontinued. Despite me repeatedly asking what was going on, and Leekes making statements about a refund being available, they didn’t actually provide one until a Senior Manager became involved. Leekes then blamed me for not contacting them (which was untrue), and then claimed I was on holiday so they couldn’t give me a refund (holiday for 9 months??? Also untrue!). 6. Were late by over 2 hours for the first delivery, providing no update calls and no explanation. Leekes have still not provided any response whatsoever to this. 7. Were late by over 5 hours for the second delivery, eventually arriving after 10pm (yes, that 10:00 at night!), proceeded to disturb my neighbours, shouted and sounded the vehicle’s horn in the street in their attempts to find my house, and then further shouted in the street as they unloaded the van. I had to tell them to be quiet to avoid disturbing my neighbours (more than they already had!). Leekes have still not provided any response whatsoever to this. 8. Damaged all 6 dining chairs while assembling them, such that they all had to be replaced. On one of them, they somehow managed to twist off the end of an Allen key and leave it embedded in the bolt head! It left a sharp point on the underside of the chair base right where you’d put your hands to lift the chair, and would have easily cut a hand or finger that came into contact with it. Took 3 months to provide undamaged replacements. 9. Left my home and front garden littered with bits of cardboard, tape, and polystyrene. Trod mud into my light-coloured carpet that I had to scrub out. Leekes then disputed that this happened or was a problem despite being presented with photographic evidence. 10. Leekes also tried to blame ME for the time taken for THEM to provide replacements, saying I should have told them I wanted the replacements more quickly! Are they serious?!?!? As if all this wasn’t enough, the Store Manager repeatedly did not respond to telephone calls, messages left, or emails, and then claimed that he had, even when presented with the emails that had gone unresponded to! When I then escalated the complaint to the Managing Director, I received a very angry call from the Store Manager (clearly upset that I’d gone over his head), where he falsely accused me of dishonesty, did not even attempt to present any evidence to support his claims, refused to apologise, and refused to discuss any aspect of the complaint further. It seemed rather pointless of him to phone me, other than to have an angry rant to a customer about how he disliked me making a fully justified complaint and escalating it when he didn’t respond! It ended up being dealt with by the Financial Controller, who made the stunning statement that “we’ve spent too long on this already”, seemingly being clouded by arrogance and forgetting that Leekes had caused all the problems to start with! All I can say is that Leekes leadership seem to exist in some sort of parallel universe where they think their service is perfectly fine. It’s hard to understand how this level of blind arrogance is possible in the face of such plainly evident problems as described above. As I said at the start, I used to be a loyal Leekes customer, but never again, and I’d advise anyone thinking of buying anything from Leekes to think again . . . you could very easily end up regretting it and giving yourself a whole load of hassle! Note to Leekes: Please don’t bother adding the sort of pathetic pithy image-covering reply to this review that you usually do, offering “help” – it’s too late for that. Nothing you can add to this review excuses anything I’ve described above, and I’m confident that any reasonable person would see that, and would see straight through any response you provide.

“Delivery Men”

Today my furniture was delivered by two guys they telephoned me before thier arrival they were friendly,polite and a pleasure to be inside your home. They treated my home with repect as if it was their own and nothing was to much trouble for them. Deliveries can be difficult for people who live on their own but they were totally professional positioning the furniture exactly where i wanted it, they even spotted a problem with the settee for which I am very grateful. Should the sofa need replacing hopefully it will be the same two people thank boys superb job!

“Replacement kitchen door”

Appalling customer care, after repeated phone calls enquiring for a replacement kitchen door which apparantely Leekes are a stockist, their kitchen designers are illusive, and it seems that they are not interested in helping with small orders only complete kitchens.

Its not a kitchen but windows and doors from this company. Poor customer service, no communication and mistruths and its all at your expense! We are 11 months in since we submitted our order and we've got part fitted windows and doors!

A very professional service from your delivery drivers. They delivered king size mattress up the stairs but were very mindful of pictures hanging on the wall. Wish all delivery drivers were as efficient and pleasant as them.

Just had my Sofa and Chair purchased at Melksham store delivered by two guys. They had called ahead to give delivery schedule which they met. They brought everything into house where I wanted it having unpacked it first and took all unwanted items away. In all a very satisfactory delivery by a professional team.

Went to the llantrisant store on Tuesday to order the table and they were very helpful. They were able to arrange delivery for today (friday) once we explained our shift patterns. The gents who delivery the table and assembled it were fantastic and we're able to do the job very quick and with the upmost of professionalism a credit to leekes.

“Terrible Experience with Kitchen purchase”

We bought a new kitchen from Leekes last year, after trawling around the usual suspects. We decided to go with Leekes because they were local, appeared to have a good reputation and, importantly, promised us that in return for the premium price we were paying (£20k all in) we would have a simple and stress free experience. Nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, the kitchen manufacturer turned up to deliver the kitchen unannounced one day, 2 weeks before we had agreed with Leekes it would arrive. When the kitchen was re-delivered, there was a lot of damage to doors which meant we needed replacements. A lot of what we ordered was shipped wrong, sink was wrong, under cupboard lights were wrong, each one of these required a call to Leekes to raise the issue and patiently keep asking them to check the part codes on the order as these didn’t match what was sent. It took 4 weeks to get all the right stuff sent through. Inconvenient but not earth shattering. The order included items that were part of the original design that just weren’t required, but Leekes did take these back and refund without too much drama. Where this all really went wrong for me was when the range cooker arrived, the delivery guys had to take the packaging off to get it into the house and broke one of the major control knobs off. I reported it immediately, Leekes advised us not to install it as it might affect our ability to return it, and then spent 3 weeks trying to arrange a repair or replacement until I finally threatened them with legal action to get a refund for the item. The manufacturer was aware and was willing apparently just to replace the unit, but apparently they couldn’t do this for us, they kept referring us back to Leekes as this was where the blocker was. After agreeing Leekes would refund us we ordered an exact replacement from an electrical retailer and it arrived within 24 hours. Leekes also forgot to order the matching extractor fan, by the time they got round to resubmitting the order, there was a 6 week lead time, so again we pursued them for a refund. We managed to get one delivered within 3 weeks. The only bit of the project that was 100% was the worktops, Leekes use Cardiff Marble and I have to say they were excellent, they turned up when they were supposed to and delivered what we ordered. It was the only bit of the project that didn’t cause any issues. The moral of this story is that although Leekes promised a simple stress free experience, it was the opposite. We had to do all the chasing, if we didn’t chase Leekes they just didn’t call us or do anything. Once the project was finished, I asked them for some small compensation to cover the fact that we couldn’t cook any food at home for 3 weeks and the 10 hours of phonecalls I had made to them over the 5 weeks of problems, they basically told us to get stuffed. I resent that I spent so much money with a company that really doesn’t care about their customers or the customer experience. I would urge anyone in the market for any major projects like Kitchens or Conservatories, don’t go anywhere near these guys.

Has anyone had Smarts alitherm aluminium windows fitted by Leekes? We had them in September and thought they were lovely, imagine our horror when with the first cold weather the frames at the bottom were soaking wet as are the bifold doors. In 2014 you don't expect to have to go round with a towel every morning mopping up. Leekes are not being very helpful with this, I think they have been fitted wrongly. Can anyone let me know their experience please?
