We loved the kitchens from Kutchenhaus as soon as we walked into the store but had heard they were expensive so we were a bit apprehensive about getting a quote. We shopped around some other high street diy stores but none of their kitchens seemed to match the build quality. We've previously bought from MFI and have found after a few years that the edging comes off the worktops and the chipboard shows through the cabinet edgings.
After a few trips to the shop (where we were always made to feel very welcome and had plenty of no pressure browsing). We eventually got a quote and I was surprised it wasn't as expensive as I originally thought it would be, probably about 25% more than B&Q for an equivalent kitchen but with much better quality cabinets and worktops and some free things that you'd normally pay for as extras at B&Q.
The kitchen was ordered and arrived on time, no worries about anything missing as we actually received more than we'd ordered (door handles and a spare door!) It took the builder no time at all to install and when he did have a couple of queries about the installation he nipped down to the shop and his questions were answered immediately, he thought the staff were very helpful.
The service we received from all the staff at the Chester store was over and above what we were expecting and although our kitchen was probably one of their lowest sales in terms of cost we never felt like we were anything less than their most important customer. We regularly received courtesy calls to let us know when the kitchen would be arriving and even though it arrived in the UK one week before it was due they held on to it for us with no quibbles. I've given them top marks in everything except for value for money and that's just had a mark taken off because although the kitchens are fantastic quality and the service is the best I've experienced from any retail store, and the kitchen will last for ages, they do look to visitors like they could have been bought at B&Q - although they seem better built and I'm sure they will last a lot longer. (One way around this is would have been to order one of their bespoke units, which they offered us, but we wanted to play it safe in terms of design.)
I cannot praise the staff at the Chester store enough and if you're even thinking of getting a new kitchen I would at least pop into their showroom and ask for a quote as, like us, you may be pleasantly surprised with the price and you definitely won't be disappointed with their service.
