I recently updated my Spanish flat with a kitchen from IKEA. To be honest, I was concerned that it appeared "too cheap" to be any good. However, a couple of visits to the Ikea stores in Croydon and Murcia (Spain) convinced me.
I particularly liked the on-line planning application and I spent several weeks swapping units, reorganising etc until I got it right.
I have shiny white doors and raw beech worktops. It looks fabulous and there is not an inch of wasted space.
The only thing that could be improved, my opinion, is higher quality appliances, sinks, taps etc from IKEA themselves. In the end I went for these from other sources.
