Screw and two spaces fell out of the door on 11th February, I have been chasing customer services daily ever since and have been constantly promised return call which never happened. This experience has been very frustrating and annoying. Can anyone give any advice on how to proceed with Christies Kitchens Ltd? Where is that 10 years warranty that they are promising? (read more)

we had a new kitchen fitted by christies at a price off £10000. nice looking, but after 18 months the high gloss finish has started to bubble in places. After being told the kitchen was guaranted with no quibble for 15 years we did not think this would be a problem. We contacted customer service and thay sent a form. When recieving the form it stated that there would be a £75 call out charge and £25 per hour to put there problem right. When phoning customer service about this they said... (read more)

I have been meaning to write this review for some time but time has overtaken me. Initially, Christies phoned me trying to sell me a new kitchen, (through some dodgey promotional stunt)although I was planning an extension of which would have included a new kitchen (at 10 months ahead) I thought “why not, get in front and see what they can come up with". Although we had a number of visits by a number of salesmen & designers, we were up front in ensuring and stressing that they were aware,... (read more)

I have had my kitchen designed ans installed by Christies Kitchens and received fantastic service from start to finish. I am not normally keen on being 'sold to' especially in my own home, but the designer/salesman was helpful and not at all pushy. We had to negotiate on price but this is always to be expected from fitted furniture companies. Christies Kitchens This is an absolute horror story and I hate myself for being stupid enough to ignore my own gut feelings. I apologise for it's length and I have changed all names for fear of harassment from those involved. I was unfortunate enough to be employed for a short time by Christies Kitchens. Finally the voice of reason.
The salemen can be a bit desperate, they are on a commission only basis being fair, but it isn't right if they are pushy of course. The training they undergoe tries to give them the skills they need to both design good working kitchens and also ones which deliver good value to the customer. There prices are a little steep but also when you go to the retail park you have a choice do you go to work in a suit you bought from primarny or one from Next?

Sorry to say, but same old stories!!!
They can change there name as many times as they like, will it make any difference? no.
The problem comes directly from the inside - management.
CEO - Ian Blackhurt
and Christies Kitches Sales Director Danny Evans (also has criminal past)
There are poor sales techniques, agressive and rude sales people with shocking sales tactics, alot of which are sad sad stories.
What goes on it indirectly condonded by the directors. They will not admit to it but so long at the sales are coming in, this is ALL that counts.
The ONLY way this company (if they can) ever make right the wrongs they have done is NOT to keep changing there name(s) but change the management.
If you have had any bad experiences or are currently having any problems, and they are not willing to help/assist you CONTACT the correct people. Trading standard, Ofcom, even go public.
They have been fined, investigated and looked into several times - they will NOT change there ways unless they have to.
Publicity
They have invested a lot of money into the new name change, competitions, give away kitchens and such for.
Please? selling kitchens for £10,000 which are worth £4000 for JJ Ormerods, managers who are paid £4000 to £10,000 per month for hit targets. A couple of kitchens here or there is nothing.
Its all about the money.....and they will do whatever it takes to get it.
1 in 500 reps will actually earn any money, most are driven to leave or sacked.
Wages are held back for a reason. Once management recieve there wage, whatever is left is passed between the reps, if anything.
Seriously any problems REPORT them - there are things pending against them with the people that CAN make a difference!! Rest assured with the information obtained there are big problems a head for the My House Group.

Where do we begin?
It depends if you did CASH option or FINANCE. Always remember you have 14 days on the finance agreement from when you offically SIGN for the kitchen. If you cancel the finance AFTER the kitchen is done - THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!!! NOTHING!! So if you sign, buy, have it delivered and installed - you still have cancellation rights on the finance.
Christies Kitchen, or what used to be Space Kitchens. A rebranding program that took place in early 2011 due to the bad reviews and publicity against them.
Appearing on TV many times over the last few years, the company was left with no option but to change the name - Space Kitchens has already gone into administration 2008 and it seemed without the rebranding, it would happen again.
So, what has changed? very little! When will they realise the NAME is and was not the issue, the problem is the way the conduct business. New name, but behind doors the same people.
The offical trading name of the group; Supreme-O-Glaze. There are many names or brands they use;
- Space Kitchens
- Christies Kitchens
- Weatherseal
- Jobs Worth Doing < So called 'own' fitters (out sourced)
- Premier Frames (UK)
- Penicuik
- Spectus
The list is endless.........!
The main office is located:
Road 1,
Winsford Industrial Estate,
Winsford,
Cheshire
CW7 3PZ
There claims are tailor made, bespoke products, or so they claim. This is to justify (or try) there ridiculous pricing. All products are flat packed item directly from JJ Ormerod < Chrisites/Space are just a middleman. They are nothing more than a 'DIRECT SALES COMPANY'
Free, no obligation appointments < This is not true. Designers are nothing more than people who have been trained (half day) on how to measure kitchen and do a basic plan. They are COMMISSION based only. So, in order to earn money they MUST sell a product.
The company stance is very 'If they like it - why will they not buy it?'
"We sell today, not tomorrow"
SO YOU MUST BE AWARE THEY WILL EXPECT A BUY ON THE DAY AND A DEPOSIT!!
Let us make one thing perfectly clear - YOU ARE NOT HAVING A VISIT FROM A DESIGNER - THEY ARE SALES PEOPLE!
AN AVERAGE APPOINTMENT WILL LAST A MIN OF 3 HOURS - MIN!!!
Now, prices....50% off, money available, interest free......so on and so on.
All of the above it NOT free, nothing in life is. These are wining the price. They will make you think like you are getting something for nothing, or they are doing you a massive discount.
Those who have had someone round will know the following, others please be aware.
PRICING....
You will be give a fixed 12 months price, this will be left with you and your free to come back when ever you see fit. This will be a STUPID price
Example: £20,000 < Justify with so called bespoke products and services
If you AGREE with there so called 'marketing' campagne 'Heart of the Home' or what use to be called 'Feature Home' you will be given a discount, BUT FOR TODAY only. You will have to agree to photos, display board, recomendation etc. etc. All of which is a ploy.
You will now get a reduced price (today only) for
£12,500
OOOooo bargain? I dont think so. In this price you will normally find
£2000 added for additonal items (incase something was missed) AND a %
comission for the sales rep.
All in all the £20,000 realistically is worth £6500 tops. The prices listed in the sales persons book can be over priced by 80% easy!!!
If you do not BUY, within 48 hours you should get a so called customer service call. What they are actually doing is trying to find a way back in. Eventually you will be offered a cheaper product that could not be sold on the day. The TRADER DEPARTMENT!
Typically you will expect the following "If I could have done something with the price, what would you say? or 'was it the price that put you off'
JUST MORE SALES PLOYS - Yawwwwn
IMPORTANT.
at the end of the day, people buy from people. If you trust the sale man you will feel obliged to buy. You will feel like you are getting a deal of a life time! The sales man wants you to believe in him and believe in the price, he want to earn money and get paid!
DO NOT - believe in the Heart of the Home. Why should you? if they want your business they will give you the discounts regardless of pictures or letters 'fact' ! why should you have to do something for them? they came to you, more often. Cold Called you.
BE aware appoints are three hours min - its a long process.
FINANCE - Most of the finance packages offered have stupidly EXPENSIVE with high interest. Always seek you own form
DEPOSIT - Only pay once you are 100% happy!! not on the night. Most will not see this again! and giving out details to someone you met a few hours ago? think about it.
Look online, there are many sales ploys used by them - people have been misled and conned. They are DECEPTIVE!! Some very sad/sorry stories.
Will they change? no. Its all about sales sales sales. No matter what happens, or how bad things are it will continue. Directors know dishonesty happens - but nothting is done so long as sales are coming in.
Please search the net well, remember they pay money to remove/delete items they really do not want seen.
I hope this information is helpfull and you take note!! My advice is to STAY well away. I look forward to comments or question. If you need any advise, ask.

I share a house with my mother and this company contacted her with a telesales call whilst I was on holiday. The rep turned up (a really lovely guy, who didnt pressurise us the whole time (4 hours) he was here). The bit that made me suspicious was, after he priced the kitchen, he had to call his manager to be told the discount. I told him no way I would sign on the night in any circumstance. I was then subject to a number of silly games whereby the manager called the rep (in my presence) but would not talk to me direct. ... They called and lowered the price considerably over period of days ... and, as I was adamant that I was paying cash and wanted no repayments he was so damn keen to push this £100 deposit scheme I began to become very suspicious. I ended up declining his very generous offer ... As said previously on here, could very well be excellent kitchens ... but something is definately a bit 'iffy' ...

Requested a free design consultation but the man who called to make the appt with us was very aggressive and wanted to send someone around the same day. I said no and booked for later in the week. Unfortunately I then wanted to postpone the appt and despite repeated attempts to call the sales line and Basingstoke office I couldn't get through to anyone.
On the afternoon of the appt the same man from earlier in the week called to confirm, we were out so I returned his call when we got home. I explained how difficult it had been to get in contact with anyone and he was rude and aggressive.
As a result I cancelled the appt and will never give business to this company.
They may well have done a fantastic job but that individual has ruined any chance they had to make money out of us. Lucky escape I suspect.

I had exactly this experience dealing with Weatherseal. Gave them an order, which they failed to fulfil within the contractual time period. Then canceled as THEY had failed to deliver and were consequently in breach. I wrote recorded delivery, Rang numerous times they just would not communicate. Never did get my money back. Then the final insult I keep getting calls from a Manchester number 01618708651 trying to sell me more from Weatherseal and now kitchens,(not marketing calls of course and special offer as they are in the area. They clearly think, I'm worth another soft touch. But never again, I'll use a small local firm in future. Once bitten....etc. Note that my number isX-Directory and listed on TPS.
