I bought this as a gift to my mother as she lives in a hard water area and thought the filtering of the water would help her and her brew making. I have returned one within a 12 month period and the other one has become faulty outside of the 12 months warranty. We subsequently picked her a different kettle now. I just read the reviews and didnt realise that this had a 2 year guarantee this was sneakily hid and in essence i've thrown this out when not knowing this. Stay away from this kind of kettle if you dont want problems
