40th birthday lunch for daughter. 19 people all had to pre order our starters mains desserts might have guessed it would have been slow, when you have to order a course before your starter called "while you wait".waitress came to table with our list. asking for names as their menu had changed and some items not available. half the guests had to reorder one or two courses. waited 30mins for starters, then another 45 mins for mains. most desserts didn't arrive at all. my Eton mess, had no meringue and the cream was warm, disgusting.Others didn't even try theirs they were sent back We complained and left before desserts were brought out, 4 hours we had waited. complained to manageress, let us off the remaining part of bill. We had paid £10 per head deposit. But in all honesty food we had was not worth that.My soup which was Leak and coriander never heard or want to taste that combination again. rest of meals were all a hotch potch combinations of ingredients. Roast dinner, which in all fairness is an indestructible meal unless burnt, looked good.there was no provision for disabled to go to loo, 100's of stairs.need pulling down and starting again.bad food cheerful waitresses but slow service. too many steps no handrails. will never go there again.

i'm usually pretty critical of restaurants but this place is faultless. the waitress we had (can't remember her name) was wonderful. food was great, little bit pricey, but worth it. i'll be going back for sure

Nice atmosphere and pleasant view over The Green. Staff attentive and welcoming. Food very good but would have preferred a plate for the meat pie instead of a board as it was a bit difficult to juggle; the puff pastry was apt to fall onto the table and I ended up putting the veg into the pie to keep the pastry under control. Excellent pie just the same and the food is a cut above the usual somewhat boring menus offered in other places. Slightly more costly than some places but worth it. Would recommend this restaurant to friends.
