I was a recruitment consultant for Reed and although they are not the most amazing, they are better than most agencies.
The consultant work under hard conditions and are not always supported by senior management. Those of you who have had bad experiences feel the need to tarnish all offices with the same brush - very unfair! Having worked for Reed, I know that we cannot help everyone and some people do not want to be helped. All branches are given specialities now, so if you go into an accountancy office but want to be a teacher, of course they will not be able to help you.
Just as if you have no experience or skills relevant to a role they want to fill, they won't help you, why would they? They want to fill these jobs not just for themselves but to help the unemployed also, so why would they waste your time and theirs.
It is also beyond frustrating when you work so hard to arrange interviews and work with people, who only let you down by not turning up or not giving their all. The amount of liars I met and how many times I was let down. Also, maybe try to think that the companies that have these vacancies often let you down at the last minute, without warning. Or they decide they do not want to recruit. That is not Reed's fault.

Every company has its faults, and at the end of the day, Reed is all about sales, but please don't sit there and judge too harshly - you will soon see that not all offices of Reed are as bad as you have all made out to be, and there are much worse recruitment companies out there!!
