My husband applies for jobs on this site every day and he must have received approximately 10 actual responses via email from the huge volumes of companies he has applied to. Surely if employers want to advertise on this site they should sign up to a code of conduct, where they have to at least acknowledge your application. It is so disheartening.
The vast majority of jobs don't have an expiry date so they are on there for ages but when you call, the position has been filled.
In a large number of cases my husband has phoned the employer who has asked his name, AGE and telephone number for a call back and he never receives a call. I can only assume that his age is an issue in these cases!!!!What do Job centre plus do to inform employers of employment legislation and equal opportunities.
The postcode function is poor at best, I have discovered that I now have to search in different post code areas to get local jobs as it does not give you a 20 mile radius, as requested.
Having been in a situation where I have not applied for jobs for many years I have been horrified to discover how employers treat applicants, failing to acknowledge applications, failing to let you know the result of an interview if you are unsuccessful and failing to remove adverts when positions are filled
Come on job centre plus you need to monitor this site and put in place a code of conduct for employers. Get your act together. Out of all the job sites on line, yours should be the most reliable.
