“DAMAGED, LATE THEN DAMAGED AGAIN”

★☆☆☆☆

written by jenniFer713 on 15/09/2015

After taking my DKNY watch in for a change of battery and a clean, the branch in the Oracle (Reading) told me they had broken off a dial from the face and could not fix it with adhesive so would have to send my watch off to the main factory.

I was told my watch would be returned to me in 4 weeks, and this additional service would be free of charge. (As it should be - they broke it whilst cleaning it and changing the battery)

After no sign of my watch for 4 weeks, I called up to remind them and it still had not been processed.

I continued to call and check up that my watch was being processed and I recieved it today after 7 weeks.

I have now found that 3 stones from the face of the watch are missing since it has been in the 'care' of the Watch Lab.

I am very upset that
1. It was broken initially in a simple battery change and clean.
2. It took so long to be returned to me, my watch is an essential item day to day in my job as a teacher and not to mention its sentimental value - it was a 21st birthday present from my parents.
3. On its arrival, I have discovered that is has stones missing.

I paid a total of £44.95 for these services and feel like I should be entitled to my money back and some additional compensation for the inconvenience, incompetence and general lack of care.

I can provide photo evidence to show the missing stones and will take this matter further if the company do not respond appropriately.
