SteveG948's review of Goldsmiths

“Leaking battery tag watch”

Written on: 20/03/2013 by SteveG948 (1 review written)

we have a couple of very nice tag watches......battery was going on one of them so took to Goldsmiths to be replaced. After some weeks we receive a call stating that the watch needed servicing and the battery had leaked......cost close to £300!!! After some thought we declined. Took the watch to 3 independent watch makers/repairers and surprise surprise' no sign of a battery leaking in this very nice watch!!!!!!! Battery replaced by a very capable watch maker and it works as tag heure designed it to. At least Mr D Turpin had the decency to wear a mask. I will of course be informing the watch manufacturer. All nice watch lovers beware and take a second opinion if they try it with you.....how do they sleep at night? Rang the shop but same old corporate rubbish I am afraid. Not worth a single star I am afraid but this site won't let me give a zero.

Goka's Response to SteveG948's Review

To be honest that is not a review for Goldsmiths. It is a review for Tag Heuer.. Goldsmiths is acting on their behalf. In this case Goldsmiths is the middle man. Thay say what Tag tells them. On the contrary they could make you aware that Tag has a habbit for advising full service. That is a fact.

Goldsmiths still have a duty to sell 'goods which are fit for purpose' or they are breaking the law!
