Me and my fiancee went in to find her a wedding ring. I had already ordered mine online. They seemed cheaper than the couple of other high street shops we had visited earlier. Having tried a few different designs we ordered one that we both liked. Between ordering and delivery I noticed you oculd get similar rings cheaper online, but was not bothered as at least we had tried on different designs and were sure this one was right. When it arrived, we wanted to have it engraved and it was then that we noticed the ring was not solid, but the metal was hollowed out on the finger side (like a half pipe cross section). Additionally, the amount of gold used for the ring was visibly less than the display ring they had used to sell the ring. The ring was far from cheap, yet it looked like something you would buy when you don't have a lot of money, but want to give the appearence of having spent more than you actually did. The shop assistant tried to offer ordering another to see if it would be any bigger, or to show another style, but when we asked for a refund almost seemed relieved to agree and admitted that it was extremely frustrating that the chain does things like this.
