Randy Armstrong & Volker Nahrmann have been major proponents of world-fusion music for the past four decades with past major success in their groups Doa World Music Ensemble and Unu Mondo. Now they have a new duet album, BEYOND BORDERS, which once again brings together music and musicians from all over the world. There are soft-and-slow tracks such as “Love Letters” and “There’s Always Hope,” as well as upbeat Brazilian-Latin ensemble tunes including “Ciao Bello” and “Unidad - Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie” (both of which seem to have wordless scat-singing female vocals on them). This is top-quality cultural-blending music worth taking a listen to.
