Item: Jamie Oliver, Jamie's Ministry of Food: Anyone Can Learn to Cook in 24 Hours
Jamie's Ministry of Food has some good ideas. Recipes seem simple and easy to follow but: sometimes instructions not clear .e.g. braised cabbage and bacon: just says add a stock cube and 285mls of water, when we did this the cabbage was so salty we couldnt eat it, needs to specify which stock cube and if it should be diluted and just use the specified amount. Also baked carrots in a bag, were far too orangy, didn't need the juice. They didn't cook in 50 mins either. Concept very good, but a bit ...

Item: Jamie Oliver, Cook with Jamie: My Guide to Making You a Better Cook
Jamie Oliver's 'Cook with Jamie' (my Guide to making you a better cook) is a great cookbook. Not only does it contain delicious recipes, it also gives tips on buying meat, fish, herbs and how to buy, cook and distinguish them. So in that sense this book is not just about the actual cooking, but in fact about being a good cook, knowing your food and most of all knowing the better ingredients. This book really helped me to master new techniques and in fact has changed the way I shop. It comes ...

Item: Jamie Oliver, Jamie at Home: Cook Your Way to the Good Life
I recently bought a copy of Jamie At Home as a gift for a family member and have to say it's a great book. An accompaniment to the recent TV series (also fantastic), this book guides you through no nonsense cooking with emphasis on using simple, home grown ingredients. There's some great tips on sourcing/growing your own stuff here, however it's also a really good read even if you're not rushing out to dig the veg patch just yet as the recipes are scrumptious and well worth trying. Spicy Pork ...

Item: Jamie Oliver, Jamie's Italy
Jamie's Italy by Jamie Oliver is my favourite cookbook. If there's one thing that the Naked Chef and I have in common it's an appreciation of all things Italian.
I like this book because it takes the classic dishes from many of the Italian regions and then adds Jamie's touches of inspiration and magic. I'm not what you'd call a dab hand in the kitchen, but all these recipes are more than achievable for even the most novice of cooks and the ingredients are easy to come by too. Most ...

Item: Jamie Oliver, The Naked Chef
The Naked Chef is the first book by this remarkable chef. Good clear recipes which are easy to follow, and the food really does look like it should. I have cooked quite a few of Jamie Olivers recipes from this book, and all have worked out well. Great for those first time cooks as well as it is not overcomplicated, and really is kept very simple. I would highly recommend this book to novices and the culinary expert ...
