Item: Island Cruises, Island Star
No more to say just fantastic. Every think was just fantastic, this is our second trip on the Island Star we sailed on the 16/08/08 returned on the 23/08/08.
from start to finish it was as I said fantastic.
Cant wait for our next

Many of the public areas are smoking eg. If you want to participate in quizes you have to sit in a smoking bar. The food was no better than average. It was quite simple and must have been done to a tight budget (as is everything onboard). There is no wow factor to the ship as the public areas feel claustrophobic. Their system of organisation is poor as we were left an hour and a half to get off on tender due to an over organised ticket system. The entertainment was old school done on the cheap. ...

Item: Island Cruises, Island Escape
Just got home from my cruise on the Island Escape!!
Arrival at airport was great, easily signposted where to go and staff very helpful.
Transfer very quick. Luggage taken to our cabins once we got off coach.
When we arrived at our cabin however we were a bit disappointed, it was quite small and decoration a bit old. And the bathroom had a damp smell. Although the cabin otherwise seemed clean.
We then went for a walk on the ship and found that the swimming pool was very small ...

Overall Island Escape was a good cruise with 5 star service on a 3 star ship. The informal dress down code made it a good cruise for those wishing a more relaxed holiday. The cabins and en-suite showers are small but adequate. My teenage girls found the entertainment and shows OK but other than that it was limited.
The swipe card system with gratuities included is good and the prices of wine & beer was acceptable. Cans of coke etc for the children is expensive at £1.45p ...
