“Infantile security questions”

Written on: 30/10/2011 by EuroTrash2 (1 review written)

Of all the online banking systems I use, this is by far the worst to login. Customer number, 10 digits, who has room in their brain to remember another random sequence of 10 digits? So it has to be written down somewhere which is (a) a security risk and (b) a pain in the backside when you can't find it.

Security questions - this is the worst bit - what stupid questions! Again, have to write the answers down. Security risk. I don't HAVE one single favourite film, book, restaurant or place. A five-year-old might have, but for goodness sake, by the time you're in your 50s ... All you can do is pick one random answer out of the many possibility so these things are not memorable. Also, they are just as easy, if not easier, for people who know you to predict, as factual questions like mother's maiden name, first domestic pet and what primary school did you go to.

However, the site does offer a free downloadable security tool which is probably good.

But please, couldn't the login be made a bit more user-friendly and sophisticated?
