I called up again the other day - because I was locked out of my online account again waiting for them to post me something - and the girl said "Natwest, the helpful bank." I laughed.
I have dealt with this bunch for 12 months now and everytime I need to do something, it takes hours. I've come to dread calling them - I have to go through the security questions with every department, there are 20 numbers on the website and God help you if you dial the wrong number.
The website is beyond a joke and, if you manage to get onto online banking you are hit with ads for their current promotion and paragraphs you have to confirm you're read before you are allowed access to your account.
As others have said, the method for transferring money using the card reader is a nightmare - different pin to your normal one and appalling instructions on the page - I wish I could show you the page that comes up. Useless.
I have to log on seperately for each of my two accounts, there are constant number choices when you call them and the staff are generally unhelpful when you do eventually get through
I am desperately trying to think of something nice to say and, apart from the ocassional human being taking the call I can't think of anything.
The comparison between Natwest and FirstDirect is huge, with everyone at FD being courteous and knowledgeable. I truly hope that FD start offering business accounts becasue I would swap like a shot.
