I am amazed at some of the bad reviews on these pages. I was one of the first to join Firstdirect and after many unhappy years with Barclays I thought I'd try someone else. Firstdirect have simply been sensational, the staff are polite, appear to be interested in what I want, listen to my queries and never fob me off or try to be dismissive if I have any concerns. I have had two loans with them, I just typed the amount I wanted to borrow into the relevant page and the money appeared in my account a few minutes later. I have had five or six mortgages with them (i've just paid one off and it took me all of three minutes and about twenty words to sort out) I cannot speak too highly of them. I rang one day and was greeted with Congratulations you've been with us for fourteen years today, a small thing I know, but it's the little things like this, that make them such a top bank.
