“IMPOSSIBLE TO INFORM BANK ABOUT USING YOUR DEBIT CAR...”

I have tried repeatedly to inform Barclays Bank online that I will be using my debit card abroad. Every time I try it requests that I type in the country I will be visiting. I type in the country "France" (so pretty bog standard and not some remote outpost in the back of beyond) and every time it just keeps requesting I type the country into the required box. Its pathetic and I'm now looking around with a view to moving my accounts to another more "user friendly" bank.
