“DONT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY.”

I am currently going through hell with this company.

Last year l got in to financial difficulty.
I approached DSC who in turn evaluated my circumstances and l paid the fee in order to start settling the debts.
One of my creditors accepted a 'settlement offer'.
So l paid the funds in to DSC's account (just shy of £500.00) and they told me they had made the payment.

10 months on, thinking l am now debt free and behaving with my money, l apply for a loan. DECLINED. I check my credit file and there it is...... DEFAULT placed by the creditor who DSC said they'd paid.

I have been going round and round in circles with DSC and the original creditor for the last 3 months, and it was only recenlty that DSC confirmed they hadnt paid the settlement (yes - thats right - it had been sitting in their bank for over 10 months, making a nice bit of intrest).

My complaint has now been forwarded to the FOS and l have had a response from "Fairpoint Plc", saying they are looking into it.

Misery..... total misery..... DONT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY.

Hi

I have exactly the same problem. I took a plan out 26 months ago with DSC, paying £112 per month to clear debts of £2400, so in theory should have a small amount left to pay. asked them for figures this month of the balance outstanding and it's £1500 more than half the original amount left to pay. I'm taking this to the OFT and FOS. How can they take advantage of people like this when they're in an already vulnerable state financially??!

When the Financial Conduct Authority came into action in April 2014, they conducted a thorough investigation of Lawrence Charlton and all of their 14 associated Debt Management Brands. They found that LC were withholding just over £750,000 of their clients' money and have been holding it for many years. This is due to the fact that when they issues cheques and BACS payments to creditors, if any details are incorrect the payments are sent back. The issues with this is that LC have no process for what to do with that money when it is returned and so have been holding this money for years as it continues to grow. They are currently in the process of trying to return this money to their clients. Some people are being refunded pence, others thousands.

The issue with this is that they are not telling their clients that in accordance to UK Financial Laws, their clients are entitled to claim interest on this money for the length of time it has been held for at the current rate of interest set by the Bank of England.

I urge anyone who has any affiliation with Lawrence Charlton, Debt Free Direct, the Fairpoint Group and any of their affiliated brands to get in touch with them and request your money back plus the interest you are legally owed.

I worked with these guys in a middle management position for 3 years and I've seen the underhanded and deceitful lengths they will go to in order to cover up the truth. Please get in touch with them as you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

My partner is going through exactly the same. We we're told 8months ago his last payement would be November. He phoned this morning they have changed their minds he now has 11 months left. He will have been paying 3 & a half years once its finished. Nearly £13000 for debts just over £4000. How can this be? We really dont know where to turn or what to do we could just sit & cry today!!!! If anyone has any advice it would be highly welcomed!!!
