Bought 2 crossfires 12 months ago as wife and I foolishly committed to a charity cycle from London to Paris. We did several thousand miles training and completed the ride without issues. Were they the best bikes on the trip? Of course not. Were they the cheapest on the trip? Definitely. Other members of the group had punctures, broken spokes, broken chains, gear failures etc etc, but we pootled along trouble free. All those things are in the lap of the Gods of course but that's the way it was.
The standard rear derailleur fitted isn't brilliant- cheap plastic mostly. After falling off in the wrong direction both bikes needed replacements but the much better upgrades were only £20 each.
All things considered it is a decent machine. If you really think you are going to get the bug and do huge mileage and hill work especially, then perhaps think again but for the casual cyclist/ commute it's fine.
