In Jan 07, I moved to Australia and used the HSBC to transfer my money, around 15 grand sterling from my HSBC account to my new Australian Commonwealth bank account. I was assured of a 4 day transfer time. After 5 days, I checked my Australian account... money was not there. But money had come out of my HSBC account. I was not worried so checked again after a couple of days. One week after transfer.. money still not there.. I called HSBC services.. they re-assured that money ...

I opened an account with the Midland Bank now HSBC in 1967 on return from soldiering in Aden. It was a friendly local branch and I kept in touch with the manager while travelling the world for many years. HSBC arrived, made the Manager redundant. My HSBC Credit Card was obtained when there was a 15 month 0% interest offer on purchases which is fine for what I wanted it for! It was easy to apply for and found it was a good acceptance rate. Item: HSBC Credit Card
It's a good card...I have no problems with it, I pay my bill every month in full and thats that. They don't give you the hard sell like some other companies can sometimes do.

Item: HSBC Child Trust Fund
I would question if there are any benefits in saving money for children this way. No return. It is better to put the money into company pension scheme.
