Hotel Diva was recommended to me as a good boutique hotel in central San Francisco. It's very close to Market Square and the main shopping & Finance district. The Trolley bus to Fisherman's Wharf is only a block away too, so the location is perfect for a tourist who doesn't want to stay in the uber-touristy Pier 39 district. Diva itself was quite 'hip' if a little tatty round the edges, but only in comparison to other UK boutique hotels I've stayed at. The room was large and comfy. WiFi is free too. The disappointments were the tiny, dated bathroom in our room and the relatively high cost of valet parking and the additional sales taxes which I hadn't factored into my budget. Overall it's a nice change from a chain hotel but could be a little disappointing if you're used to the likes of Hotel du Vin or Malmaison in the UK.
