We stayed two nights over Christmas. The hotel was very nice, the staff very helpful and friendly. The beds very comfortable. The bathroom however was very cramped and you had to get right inside to shut the door. Mainly though the food, although some was all right, I thought much of it left a lot to be desired especially as this was Christmas fare.

My husband and I stayed for one night here on a recent trip to Yorkshire on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. We elected for an executive double room and the room was excellent on its own dedicated floor 3. Unfortunately we then went down to the dining area for our evening meal. We waited at the bar to purchase a pre dinner drink, and waited whilst two bar staff some six feet away managed to ignore us (the only customers). After five minutes a third man arrived and took our order. We found a table and were presented with the table de hote menu that was limited so we opted for the a la carte alternative (our allowance was reduced to £3 less than the TdH option) We both chose a chicken dish that had obviously been cooked some time earlier and kept warm under heat lamps resulting in a leathery texture. On enquiring whether there were any chef's in the kitchen we were told there were three. Obviously they only could manage the microwave reheat cycle! An extremely unpleasant experience and one we shall not repeat. Breakfast was the usual buffet style and only average.
