“Scuba Divers Mecca”

Have dived in Las Galletas before and stayed elsewhere, big mistake because having found this hotel it will be my base for years to come. Rooms are of a good size with balcony for drying off kit. Room service kept the room very clean and tidy. Being all inclusive for the first time in my life was a little daunting but what a bargain ! From breakfast through lunch, snacks and evening meal, everything fitted in well with our diving schedules - the bonus was the food was good and free drinks on tap .....what more could you ask for. Don't listen to any old moaners who like to complain for a living, this Hotel for thr price rates 10 out of 10

“Tenerife August 2011”

★★★★☆

written by looby233 on 18/10/2011

Just returned from Tenerife after 10 amazing days. The hotel was very good value. Food was different and lots of varieties daily, staff very friendly. The pool was amazing and the great weather helped. Even if you had no sun there was enough entertainment to keep you busy. The area was quiet and very close to the Harbour in Las Giagantes if you wanted a lively night. It was just what we were looking for. On a bad note the hotel itself needs a good reburbish on the outside - inside we could not fault a thing apart from no air con - overall very happy with our holiday and would defo recommend for families, couples and youngsters.

“Great Time at Ten Bel Alborada”

★★★★☆

written by hardingclare69 on 10/09/2011

We had read many reviews before going on our family holiday here and were a little cautious but we had an amazing holiday and you get wht you pay for. The food although limited was lovely and the entertainment seemed to be run by one guy but kept the kids amused so that made us happy. There was no kids club or entertainment program in the day as advertised to us by low cost holidays and definately no free wifi but all in all we wanted a nice relaxing holiday and that is what we got. The staff were friendly the pool was amazing ad the rooms had so much space was unbelieveable. All ten bel alborada needs is a lick of paint, a little more choice of food and maybe a propa entertainment team and it would be fantastic.

“Family friendly, out of the way destination.”

★★★★☆

written by Rjacobs on 15/08/2011

Costa Del Silencio, Ten Bel Alborada; Spent two weeks at this destination, close to airport, 20 minutes if going direct. Read other reviews before I went so was not surprised by outside look of buildings, however apartments were large and clean and good value for money. The best things about this complex is the swimming pool, I would guess 100 meters by 60 meters, amazing. Although large complex, about 800 people, always space in the pool. I felt food was of a good standard, 4 meals a day if needed. Location was fine, 20 minutes on the bus to main tourist attractions, fares cheap, bus stop very near complex. Plenty of shops near complex for anything you forgot to bring with you. Staff very helpful and friendly. I would recommend to others if you are looking for a place to chill for a few weeks, if you looking for a party town catch the bus to the main tourist areas. All together I was happy with my time there and will return again in the future.

“BEWARE ROOM 420!! Good value for money, but basic!”

★★★☆☆

written by tazmyn on 13/08/2011

Hi there!! On arrival we were allocated room 420 and on our first night we found that the noise from the traffic and the grill outside was unbearable. Luckily on complaining to reception we were moved the very next day to the more suitable and quieter room. As the coach arrived at Alborada, we were amazed at how grim the hotel looked, we were all like is this us? is this not a car park?? As we looked around the hotel it was better, very basic but we were pleased that it was a good value for money. The pool is very very big and when we arrived it was such a beautiful colour and we were very happy with it- which did not last for long. The pool only gets cleaned once a week which is a big big disappointment, as after a couple of days it turns very dirty and it ends up looking like a pond- which is NOT very inviting. The room we stayed in for the rest of the holiday was fine, nice and spacious and has all the fascilities such as pots and pans etc, that a normal kitchen has. The food in the restaurant was basic with at least the choice of meat and fish everyday, but the desert was always the same- why did they not use a little imagination?? When you come to this hotel, do not expect too much for the entertainment to be good... There is a mini disco but it lasts for 5-10 minutes and thatsthat for the kids. During the day there are no animation activities, despite there being a board there of all the daytime activities that you can do! A little dissapointing because on the first day my father and brother were both looking forward to a nice go at water polo in the pool! Friendly waitors and waitresses who work all the time. Oh yes, Ten bel, Alborada is not the place to drown.. the life guard is very big (fat) and it looks as if he has not done any swimming in his life.. The all-inclusive is exellent and a very good value for money WE enjoyed the holiday- it has personality, and I can ensure you that you will never find a hotel like this anywhere else... “Costa Del Silencio is one of the quieter coastal areas...”

★★★★☆

written by davetaylor1956 on 06/09/2010

Costa Del Silencio is one of the quieter coastal areas and is ideal if you are looking for a chillout / peaceful holiday resort. There are a mixture of restuarants and bars scattered about including Spanish, Chinese, English and German. There's not too many shops about but it is only a few miles to Los Cristianos and Las Americas where there is a much bigger selection. Both of these resorts are just a short bus journey away and costs a couple of euros in bus fare.

The town of Las Galletas is a couple of kilometers away and has some excellent fish restaurants and a few bars / shops. The beaches are a mix of black sand and shingle with sunbeds available to hire at just 2 euros a day.
This resort is ideal if you like scuba diving / surfing. There is also a range of boat trips available from the marina.

Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good chill out location.

“We booked our holiday at the last minute to the Ten...”

★★★☆☆

written by jojo64 on 30/08/2006

We booked our holiday at the last minute to the Ten Bel Alborada in Costa Del Silencio, Tenerife, and then I read the reviews which I wish I hadn't. The hotel is the ugliest building I have ever seen, but once inside it is OK, except for there being no air conditioning. The pool is fabulous, especially when it has been cleaned once a week. I didn't find the staff very friendly or helpful, and round the pool bar they didn't like anyone at all, except the Spanish of course. The entertainment is OK if you are aged 10 and under.

I don't want to put anyone off if you are about to go because the weather was fab, and the pool is 3/4 of an acre big. You can get a bus across the road to Los Cristianos or Las Americas for under 5 Euros every 30 minutes. Plus, in the little village they sell fabulous shoes and bags.

“We booked a last minute deal at the Costa Del Silencio...”

written by sirenis on 19/04/2006

We booked a last minute deal at the Costa Del Silencio Ten Bel Alborada Hotel in Tenerife. The rooms were clean and basic. We went all inclusive, but found the food wasn't brilliant.

The Hotel looks like a multi-storey car park from the outside, and there isn't much to do out and about. We found the pool to be spot-on, and the weather was great. We just didn't enjoy not having any British tourists staying at hotel.

Hi!
We've booked to go here next week but information seems to be scarce.
Can you advise if we need to bring a travel kettle for the apartment and will we need to bring our own clothes hangers?
Thanks a lot!

“10 of us stayed all inclusive at the Tenbel Alborada...”

written by tadalaja on 19/01/2005

10 of us stayed all inclusive at the Tenbel Alborada over Christmas and New Year, we were of mixed ages from 70's down to 10. We all had a great time. Holiday food was good, entertainment was ok but as we were in a group we made our own entertainment. We had three teenagers with us there wern't any night clubs or teen entertainment in the area, we knew this before we went so this is not a complaint. The area is very spanish with some lovely little shops and bars. It would be a shame to spoil this area with clubs etc. So if you wish for lots of night entertainment don't come here. When we arrived we had a small problem with the hot water and the safe not working, within 30 mins both problems were sorted. No complaints.

written by kayleigh mason on 10/01/2005

The outside of Ten Bel Alborada looked like a multi-storey car park or a prison. Costa Del Silencio was really nice but as we went for the winter time it was quite cold even though the brochure stated it would be quite warm. As it was Christmas, the shops were closed a lot of the time so there wasn't much to do. You couldn't sunbath because of the weather so most of the time I stayed indoors and played cards. I must say if you want a really good day out, go to loro park it is really good for people of all ages.

written by lilbabydolllisa on 06/01/2005

The rooms at Ten Bel Alborada are ok and room service comes around every day to make the beds and clean the room. If you are all inclusive you have 3 meals a day and you can eat and drink as much as you want, it's great, with many different selections of foods and puddings including most English foods. I would defiantly go again. We went in December and the weather was hot a bit breezy at times but I came back with a tan. If you do go at xmas time take a few jumpers just for the evening.

“The hotel resembles a multi-story concrete car park...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AKHAKH on 13/11/2004

The hotel resembles a multi-story concrete car park and is next to the town of Las Galletas on the south coast. The town consists of some shops, bars, a small port and that's about it. It's very busy with traffic, quite dirty with no beach to speak of. The Ten-Bel "resort" which includes the hotel seems to go on for ever along the rocky coast and inland from the town. The whole resort is run down and in need of a great deal of investment. There are also a few shops, restaurants and bars in this area as well.
The hotel has no charm at all, the large sea water pool is surrounded by cracked slippery tiles, paint flaking off concrete steps, cracked concrete, cigarette ends and hundreds of white plastic loungers, chairs and tables. The bar on the same terrace as the pool area (same white plastic chairs inside and out) serves a range of drinks from 10am to 11pm giving plenty of time for the bingers to get their fill, then they can go night clubbing 'till 3am, right next to the hotel and our first room (we moved).
The "restaurant" (they call it) actually a cafe or canteen would best describe the facility, served food exactly the same for every meal with a choice of 2-3 main courses, usually some type of meat, some type of fish, and something else, maybe hotdog sausages left over from breakfast? We were supposed to be on all inclusive basis but ate out quite a few times.
The all inclusive facility consisted of: Food, (awful), drink, lounger beds (mattress extra cost daily, and no beach towels at all) a single table tennis table, a free 10 minute go in the pool with a diving mask and tennis, and that's all we could find to do. However, to play tennis you had to walk 10 minutes to the private tennis club for the key, walk 15 minutes to the other tennis courts next to a road and rubbish tip, play tennis, walk back with the key and then back to the hotel. (Alternatively you could climb through the holes in the fence.)
I could go on about the noise, awful location, being under the flight path to the airport etc, etc, etc., but I hope you get the picture and don't do what we did. Stay there.
This is the worst holiday my wife and I have ever had and we will never return to the hotel, resort or island.

“You get what you pay for at Ten Bel Alborada. ”

★★★★☆

written by Allen on 14/10/2004

You get what you pay for at Ten Bel Alborada.
The location is good with a relatively unspoilt town outside. Ideal for a week's break where you just want to chill out. Usual Spanish indifference to customer service. Food average "canteen standard." Evening entertainment pathetic unless you are under 6.
All in all, if you want more, pay more and go to one of the main resorts. We had a relaxing time, sat in 30 degrees of sun all day, excellent pool. What more do you want for your money.

I had a great holiday at Ten Bel Alborada. What a great place.
Shops just around the corner.
Sea straight infront of you.
Huge pool.
What more do you want. The only bad thing was the entertainment.

written by adambloor on 07/07/2004

When we arrived our first thoughts were of Costa Del Silencio Ten Bel Alborada were OK. This was because after reading other reviews we thought that it would be awful but it wasn't that bad. The food was nice, but more for the foreigners. The food was mainly for the Spanish.
The pool was cleaned out on a Friday, but ours had been cleaned out before that because there was a jelly fish in the pool. 1 person was stung.
