The hotel was brilliant and as described. The big let down was the buffet restaurant. The breakfast was of chain hotel standard. The quality and choice of the evening menu was good, in particular the fish as we don't eat meat. The problem was the almost complete lack of management. Food ran out without being replaced. Some food was left to dry out. There was no butter available for three days! The staff were very slow to clear and relay the tables. The female staff were very efficient and friendly but the male staff were almost all indifferent. The male bar staff were generally surly and unfriendly. It is a great hotel and if they appointed an experienced manager for the restaurant it would be perfect. At present the best way to describe it would be Grand Hotel meets Fawlty Towers! It is such a shame. The reception staff were excellent and professional.
