The Grange Bracknell Hotel is right in the middle of Bracknell Town Centre, near Windsor. We stayed there with several children as we were visiting Legoland, which was a few miles away. I usually find something negative in my reviews, but in this case, only the location of the hotel let it down. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of the 1960's style shopping centre, and the views do not offer more than a "concrete city" feel. However, once you enter the hotel, you forget about the outside world. We stayed in a family room on the 7th floor. The reception is warm and inviting and what I would call "posh". Staff are well dressed and polite. We paid approx £100 per night for three nights. Sounds expensive, but it really was not much more than a b&b for a family with children. The hotel decor is very impressive and plush. Two lifts take you to the floors and you do not have to wait long to get on one. The rooms use a key card to enter. This is simple and easy to use. You do have to place your card in a special terminal once inside so electric can be used. The room we were in was large, airy and air conditioned. The beds were well made and the bathroom was extremely clean and well laid out with the usual towels, shampoo etc... We had two tv's and even a safe to keep expensive items. Tea making facilities were in a little cupboard, which was neat. The curtains were thick so made the room almost pich black even on a hot, sunny say. Rooms get cleaned every day and they top up with shampoo, shower gel, soap as required. The beds were comfortable and we all slept like logs!! Breakfast is included in the price, though we noted that the usual price would have been around £20. Saying that, the breakfast is buffet style so you can eat as much as you like. All the usual foods were available, bacon, sausage, beans etc... Staff walk around and serve you tea and coffee. We did have trouble getting toast, but this is a minor thing. We did have an evening meal on the first night, which came to £126 for four adults and six children. Not bad when you break it down. I had chicken curry with rice, which was well presented and delicious. I also had a pint of Cobra beer. A lovely pint, but overpriced at over £4! Adjacent to the dining area is an outside "garden" where you can chill out in peace. It is landscaped with artificial grass and stones. Nice place, but beware if you have children as they will mess with the stones! All in all, the Grange Bracknell Hotel was a great stay and extremely comfortable. If is was better located then it would be perfect. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, be it for business or pleasure. Best place I have ever stayed in so far...
