The five hour flight from Gatwick almost took off on time - a rare event for me, and it was less arduous due to an hours sleep shortly after take off. We were met at the airport by a Fleetway rep who smoothed our way through customs and onward to the hotel where we were in time for a quick evening meal. The layout of Mercure is a series of three story communes separated by pathways set in well kept lawns and overlooking the Red Sea. The rooms were ample for two with interconnecting doors to the next suite when needed. The hardware in the bathroom was very modern and the beds were the most comfortable I have had in any holiday hotel. My only complaint was that there was too much music being played during the day which penetrated the remotest parts of the beach, but then I am a 70 year old grumpy from the UK. With 2 glass back squash courts and guaranteed sun I would definitely return sooner rather than later.
