I spent a night at the lovely Ambassador hotel as a stopover when driving from Brisbaine to Airlie Beach for a friends wedding. The reason being that some other friends of ours were already checked in, and it was the day that England played France in the RWC quarters and the game had kicked off already! We would definitely gone somewhere else had we had any time to find somewhere.

Good points first.
Its right on the highway.
It had a telly showing the rugby.
It was filthy.

Bad points
Badly, badly in need of some TLC.
Rooms were dated.
It was just not a particularly nice place, at all.
It was $100 per night!!!!!! $100. I could not believe it.

There were a whole bunch of hotels along the same road because Rocky is essentially the only town within 600k's. Some of them must, must be better.
