“Great Value and stunning views”

This is place is rated top on Trip Advisor and with good cause. It is such amazing value for money!
Friends of mine were getting married in Airlie Beach and there were around 15 friends travelling over from the UK. I contacted Summit a couple of months in advance and they were really good in dealing with all of my questions and the booking was done.
It is not a hotel, but self catering apartments. The rooms are up to really high standards. There are around 7-8 blocks each with 6-8 apartments in each. As we all booked together we had a block almost to ourselves for most of the time. Each apartment can have 4 people in it and has a massive open plan kitchen dining lounge area with big tv and fox sports (which, given the rugby world cup was one, was very nice).
I am not sure if it was through design or chance, but our group was in the furtherest block away from the others. While this added 30 seconds to our walk out of the complex it meant that from our balcony we were right next to the rainforest that ran along the side. The views.....ah the views. All along the side of the apartment that we were in was rainforest and then as your followed this along you look out over the main road in Airlie to the sea and Whitsunday Islands. It really was spectacular.
One of the rooms was slightly tucked back in the apartment so no views for them, but the lucky people (me and my fiancée!) in the larger room had the view out to sea that I have just described. We also had a all glass walk in
shower the view was also visible from there.

I am hoping that you are getting from my review that I was happy? This was one of the nicest places that I have ever stayed. But the price would not suggest this. We only paid the equivalent of £22 per head to stay there! You would pay probably double that to stay in a travel lodge by the site of a motorway here!
There was a pool and games room. Their was wi-fi, but it was not working in our block the week we stayed so (great hardship) we had to hang out by the pool while we checked emails etc.
Literally the only bad thing that I can say is that Airlie is really hilly and Summit (as the names suggests) is the highest place to stay in town. They advertise a 10 min walk into town. Maybe on the way down but on the way up it is defo more like 15-20 and a hard slog. However a cab is like $5 so.... no dramas!
Highly recommended
