Ok, here is your survival guide for the hotel Travelodge in Jackson, Michigan.
You will need your own safe. They charge you a 30$ dollar deposit and 2.50$ a day for the key for the rooms safe. Seems exorbitant? It is, but you need a safe to lock up your valuables. If you don’t have your valuables locked up, decent chance they will end up missing. We lost quite a bit of my wifes medication because we would forget to put it in our personal safe. Do not make the same mistake we did, lock up all of your medication before you leave your room. Make sure it is a secure safe, ours was, but still there were 2 break in attempts. Peace of mind is priceless, good luck finding it at the Travelodge though. Its difficult when employees are drug addicts.
As for feeling comfortable in your room, give that up. Cause our door was knocked on from between 8am until 9pm. Not just knocked on, but beat on until someone answered. Multiple incidents, one occasion comes to mind.
It happened at 8:30am. I had just gone to sleep at 6am, so you can bet I was in fine form to answer the door. I answered, and was accused of urinating outside the night before, and told I had to go talk to the manager. Which I did. She said someone matching my description identically was seen urinating outside the night before, I said it wasn’t me. She said she believed me after constant eye contact was applied. On my way back to the room, I was confronted by another employee who told me it was a black person(I can't even refer to the word used on this web site) seen urinating outside the night before. Taken aback, I went back to my room. When I went to grab my mail, I confronted the manager by saying “I guess he matched my description identically, except his skin color was much darker than mine.” She agreed, while looking down. I guess all of us minorities look the same to those people. Or maybe they should collect all the information before accusing a longtime guest of urinating in public. Who knows. Just avoid this hotel if its possible, there is the Avalon close by, many other hotels that don’t accuse their guests of sex crimes, steal from them, or otherwise harass them. Go elsewhere. Nuff Said.
