“Waste of NHS and social care money”

I dread to think how many thousands of pounds this company costs the NHS in wasted, uncollected equipment, unhonoured appointments time and staff wages spent simply answering repeated calls from upset and frustrated customers wanting support. I urge everyone to bring this company to the attention of their local MP so that Medequip can be made accountable for their NHS contract and monies lost. I have lost count of the amount of equipment this company has just left in our care home. We have had appointment after appointment missed, even their own staff state that this company does not know what it is doing.

“Terrible service”

Advertise as covering cumbria. We applued for the mother in law, got the equipment sent to us and we signed up - only to be told you'll have to install yourself as we dont cover that part of cumbria ! We tried to set it but it didnt work, after unhelpful phone we said we would return it. We were sent a returns label - but nit told had to be used on acertain day, so when we took to post office wasnt able to use it and had to 4.45 to post back all the being charged while we had the unit by the day - even though it didnt work ! Would not recommend this company if you are looking for safety for a loved one. Most unhelpful staff. Promise to phone you back but dont. Trading standards should be made aware of false advertising !

“Disgraceful”

This is the third time Medequip have come out to my vulnerable Aunty. On each occasion I asked for no-one to enter the property until I arrived and asked them to call me at least 30 minutes before they arrive at the property, as it takes that long for me to travel there. On each occasion they did not phone, entered the property without authorisation and without communicating their security code that had been text to me. My Aunty has been left traumatised by unknown people entering her house, let alone carrying out work without her knowing who they are and what they are doing. This company must deal with vulnerable people every day and it is totally unacceptable they should be allowed to continue in this manor with no safety for the customer in mind.

“Worse than useless”

After a bereavement, returning equipment was awful, appointments not kept after taking time off work, all calls just hung up and managers in constant meetings. In the end left all the stuff for the scrap man

“Extremely rude office staff.”

I had a call from Medequip to tell me they were coming to do a check on 2 items of equipment. I explained that the items had already been checked recently and passed with the appropriate tickets on them. Did not want to know, just kept quoting their script several times , including mentioning the law and we could go to court. I felt I was being spoken to as someone who was stupid. They need to act more professionly. The care firm who checks their work always sets a time of arrival and rings if the technician is going to be late.

“Unaccomodating”

They only give you a few minutes notice of when they arrive. There is no accommodating for time slots. What do you do if you can't be there. Staff are unhelpful and will only take recommendations from medical staff. They go buy route only?? Really??? They should not have the contract!!!!

“Unprofessional and No Customer Service”

The staff do not convey any professionalism. They'll find an excuse to not carry out the work. They pretend that they will escalate your complaint and that someone will get back to you. Being an unprofessional company, no-one will get back to you. Avoid this company if you don't like being messed around.

“4 months waiting for shower seat!”

A new shower seat was ordered over 4 months ago due to moving house and housing association policy that they would need to fix a new seat in wet room and couldn't use the one we already had. Mediquip have since repeatedly given different excuses as to why they haven't been able to deliver. First they were on their way 3 months ago but a bridge was down an route so they couldn't get here. A month later they said it didn't come with instructions on how to put the seat together. This month they say the floor fixings are not with it. My partner was completely self caring but now I have to bed bathe him which is not ideal as I'm often at work whilst he does his toilet routine and so if it is a messy one has to sit in his own waste till I get home. The physical health risks are obvious let alone what its doing to his mental health.

“dreadful ”

I took delivery of a pressure reliving mattress on Wednesday,only to discover it was faulty! They came out on Friday night with a replacement,it is now Saturday morning and have had no sleep as the replacement mattress is rock hard and cannot be adjusted,this is putting me at risk of pressure sores,can't get any answer when I ring,absolutely shocking service.

“Can't give a call before visting”

I phoned mediquip to report a faulty battery charger for my mums hoist ,I was told it would be replaced within 4 hours time slot.i kindly asked if the engineer would kindly phone me before he makes his journey so I can get someone at the house to let him in as my mother is unable to walk. The person said we don't make calls before call outs I explained to him my mums condition ,his answer was no.what a joke ,A company supplying equipment for people with disabilities can't help with courtesy call . They should be more understand ing with there costumers.

“Appalling customer service”

I have been waiting in all day for a delivery from this bunch of parasites. The original timeslot that I was given was between 9.45 and 13.45. I phoned them just after 13.45 only to be told (in a dismissive and offhand manner) that their operative was running late and would be with us some time before 18.00. It is now 18.09 and there has been no sign. I've tried to contact them by phone only to find that all their offices close at 17.00! I will be contacting the NHS provider which set up this delivery to plead with them to use another organisation.

“Home visit Nightmare”

Have spent the last week trying to book an engineer to have a look at my mother's bed and mattress, but they will not co-ordinate the visit with that of her carers who need to hoist her out of bed. Spoke to the supervisor and he told us we have to get the district nurse to book it, when I said we had he then told us they had not done the correct procedure and gave me a phone no. for them to ring to do this. This was passed onto the district nurse and the no. did not have anything to do with booking a particular slot!! So they lie as well as not caring for their clients!! To add to our distress the problem with the mattress is due to them not fixing it properly to the bed in the first place.

“Medequip failed my dying wife”

The Wood Green branch of this useless company were supposed to deliver a hospital bed so my dying wife could visit her home for the last time. Their delivery window was in the evening and their technician failed to show up, their office closed after the delivery window opened so there was no way of contacting them, they did not supply the mobile no. of the technician so I couldn't contact him, and the technician failed to contact me. My wife is very very ill and is failing rapidly, which is why this was an emergency and it now looks like she won't be able to come home as per her dying wish thanks to this shambles of a company.

“Absolute disgacefull”

This company are a joke excuse after excuse .ordered a fob from wirral branch 6 weeks and no fob .when you phone and confrount them all they say is sorry your line is breaking up we cant hear you, yea right from 3 different phones customer service is non existent totally need a good management shake up avoid ....

“Appalling treatment over failed deliveries”

My hospice arranged with this company to deliver equipment to my address. Following a call from medequip an arrangement was made for installation on 2nd August 2016 though they couldn't give an estimate of what time it would be. My carer took time off and We waited in all day but no one turned up. I referred the failure to my hospice and on 3rd August, I received a call from Medequip yet again to arrange another day. Having stressed to them that they had missed one appointment and that I was too unwell to be messed about another appointment was made for 8th August though yet again despite being unwell, I was supposed to wait all day for the equipment as they could only say that it would be between 10am and 5pm. For the second time this terribly inefficient company failed to turn up so my carer has now lost two days pay which I am now going to try to make up and I have had the discomfort of having to wait around all day for no reason. No one from this company has called to apologise for their failure to turn up! I find it amazing that such a company is being asked to deal with sick elderly and disabled people since they display such a blatant disregard for the well being and time of those they are dealing with. to say that I am now angry and distressed is an understatement I hope the directors of this company read reviews and institute some sort of system like many other companies of allocating a time window, giving a contact number in case of problems and having more respect for the end users of their service. Until they do, I for one will rate them at less than one star.
