“Intelligent Mystery Thriller Horror G”

★★★★☆

written by travelboy on 06/02/2014

There has not been a decent main / secondary actor mystery, horror, thriller since Old Boy, Angel Heart nor Jacobs Ladder for sometime. Sci-fi has got near with movies such as TimeCrimes. I for one congratulate the making of a movie which misleads the audience convincingly as to whom to trust and why, with a lot of plot red herrings. I think on the whole it's well executed.

Ignore the mislead bad reviews of this movie found on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. This is an intelligent mystery, horror, thriller that leads the viewer down one train of thought. In the end we we end up somewhere else entirely.

The scripting nor the pacing can be put at fault, nor can the acting main character. Some of the supporting cast ain't the strongest but that's good as the viewer isn't distracted from the story / mystery in preference for well known actor favoritism.

The only fault with this movie is the VoiceOver at the end that could have been done with FaceTime from the actors. Other than that, expect the last 15 minutes to have a lot of twists and explanations thrown in. You can do a LOT worse with all the cr¥p on the cinema and DVD rental store. Do yourself a favor and watch this, especially if you liked the first three movies I mentioned at the beginning of the article.
