I picked up These Trespasses at horror convention sometime last year. I get a lot of books and this one finally made it to the top of the stack. Man, I should have read it sooner. The basic premise here is that aliens have landed in middle America and are slowly assimilating humans. The military seems to have taken a hands off approach and those who are within the impacted area are treated more like refugees or illegal aliens (vague pun intended) than citizens.
