Over its five year reign the Honda Civic Type-R has gathered momentum as a leading player for the fast car brigade. Put simply, its one of the best Hot Hatches ever made and especially the more recent version. Tens of thousands of these superb hatchbacks have been sold in the UK and they transformed the reputation of the Civic from a reliable runabout into a sleek and sexy urban warrior.
The Type R is still a practical vehicle though with plenty of leg room and ample storage in its boot. It just handles like a Grand Prix champion. The Type Rs impressive power is a result of Hondas VTEC advanced engine technology. To be precise its 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine.
The Honda Type R was also notable as the first Civic produced in England by Honda for export to Japan.

I have had my Honda Civic Type R new since 2002 it has done 42k miles and not let me down yet, it still turns head and will show lesser Porsche boxsters a clean pair of heels and I can seat five people with a decent boot top that.

Summary for Honda Civic 2.0i VTEC:
I've driven this car and its a delight! The dual climate control is such a snazzy gimmick! Plus the leather steering etc - they all make the interior of this car fantastic.As for how well its drives - I'd say very good. Not the best but its still super quick and yet comfortable at the same time. Nippon car parts think its ok, they don't seem too enthused over it though! I'd say 8/10 any day for this ...

Overall a great car to drive, not the fastest hot hatch but it is the most exciting to drive out of them all.

Read the road tests they are all true. Its a pocket rocket which handles like a go cart, the feed back is excellent, this is a car that you really can drive by the seat of your pants & the engine sound is superb when the VTEC kicks in.
