The compact and budget sports Civic Hatchback, the Honda Civic SIR, with its racing interior and sleek exterior, has a reputation for super handling, comfort plus a solid chassis and body.
SIRs were and still remain great quality and bargain vehicles. Good models continue to be snapped up on the second hand market when they become available. The Civic SIR has often been compared very favourably alongside the popular Mini Cooper S and VW Golf GTI 1.8T.
Remember, the Honda Civic SIRs are smaller than similar Hot Hatches with two doors. The later Civic hatchbacks were often described as heavier and slower. But the SIR, which was also notable as the first English built Civic to be sold in Canada, had more power and acceleration than the standard Si.

I have had my Honda Civic Type R new since 2002 it has done 42k miles and not let me down yet, it still turns head and will show lesser Porsche boxsters a clean pair of heels and I can seat five people with a decent boot top that.
The dash board mounted close ratio six speed box is a drivers dream 200 BHP under the bonnet is less horse power than some of its rivals but being lighter than nearly all of them power to weight ratio either matches or betters them. 6.5 seconds to 60MPH and top speed ...

The car is rather large for a coupe. The handling is superb there is very little body roll in corners even at high speeds.
Bad points (there aren't many and this is being picky) the road noise doe's get loud over 60mph but is very quite around town, the electric windows on mine have failed twice with in the ...

The best hatch you can buy for this type of money. The Honda Civic 1.4 16v 3dr hatch is a stunning and I have had 1 for a year now I also have a 1.6vti which is very quick 0 to 62 in 5.9secs. Anyway I had my tiny 1.4 16v engine super chipped so it has 130bhp now I also had a full straight through s/s exhaust fitted with four branch manifold for a very reasonable £225 the car still delivers 40mpg and is as nearly quick as a standard ...
