Produces excellent designers

I currently employ two interior designers and two architects at my consultancy in England and we recently interviewed 24 applicants for an interior design position. Two of those applicants came from the National Design Academy & their work stood out as some of the best portfolio examples I have seen since working in this industry for over 30 years.

The National Design Academy isn't particularly well known to the general public because not many school-aged students could manage the three/four years of incredibly focused/self directed study that takes place at the NDA. Most school-leavers, at least initially, want an easy-ride at university, and hence why the National Design Academy only attracts some of the most dedicated and talented applicants. This is much to do with the fact that it is specifically an interior design school, not just a 'general university with an interiors course' and it also due to the fact that students are expected to be extremely independent learners and develop a lot of project management skills too.
