I have just finished the BTEC in Travel & Tourism, which my company sponsored me for and which I completed over the course of 2 years. My tutor was supportive throughout, always marked my assignments very promptly and answered any questions I had. However, I was not very impressed with the course materials. They took a while to arrive and were quite sloppily put together, with lots of typos, grammatical errors and obvious cut&paste jobs. They were also very out-of-date, although towards the end of my course an updated version was published. I felt the course material didn't equip me very well to tackle my assignments and that I had to do a lot of the groundwork myself, in addition to the research required for each specific assignment. In hindsight, I think it would have been good to be able to see an example of the course material before purchase.

That said, the overall experience of going back to study after 10 years was great and I got a great sense of focus and achievement from it.
