“Mixed feelings but overall satisfied”

My Sony Vaio laptop screen cracked a few weeks ago (which is common problem with that model due to the weak casing) so we called our home contents insurers (Groupama) which had the repairs arranged with SBS. They collected the laptop straight away the next day via courier and even texted the hour hour time slot the courier would turn up in so thankfully I didn't have to take the whole day off and sit around waiting. “No problems quick response and efficient claim”

My mobile phone was sent to Samsung for repairs as it was within warranty, unfortunately the handset was damaged beyond economical repair, after receiving the handset back from them on Friday I sent the phone to sbs on Saturday, on Monday I received a phone call from abs to send out an upgraded phone as my handset was discontinued, but as I had brought a replacement in the meantime, I asked for the possibility of having the money instead, within 5minutes of receiving the call the claim... “Robbers and thieves”

Accidecntly broke the screen on my laptop. Contacted the NFU who had it insured. We were then passed on to SBS who arranged for it to be collected to see if it could be repaired. It could not and they offered the to date quite lent valued at £415, I did not want an equivalent I wanted to upgrade. Quite rightly they said I would have to pay the difference. I specified what I wanted they then said I would have to pay a difference of £900. When I can buy the laptop for about that price... (read more)

“Excellenty communication right through”

I have just received my laptop back within 8 days of being picked up for repair and must say I am really pleased with the whole procedure. It was completely painless and I was kept informed throughout as to what stage they were at by phone calls which I really appreciated. Abbas was very helpful and it was a pleasant change to get the same person each time! Many thanks to SBS :) (read more)

“Be prepared to fight tooth and nail with them”

You are unlikely to have any direct involvement with SBS given they provide services to insurance companies in the form of settling their claims. Thus if you are insured by Allianz - my insurer - then you may likely cross paths with them if you make a claim Their sales pitch "make claims simple" could not be further from the truth when I reflect upon my experience. I was told by my insurance company that SBS would be sorting my claim out for my laptop and when I read the above review was obviously really worried that I would have problems!
I can only say that I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was kept informed throughout the process and the claim was sorted out quicky. My laptop was collected and returned within 8 days in good condition.

Hey,

Don't get me wrong, these guys did make some phone contact with me. My issue was that when they received the damaged goods they did not analyse the goods or order new parts at that point. I later discovered they had done it months later.

So i was frustrated because when I was getting their phone calls they would be like "5 more days".... "1 more week".... when in reality they had no clue how long I was going to wait

I can understand your frustration - I am having similar problems with another company at the moment!!
I guess I was lucky with SBS that they were able to repair my laptop so quickly but as I said, I can fully appreciate your problems with what I have going on myself.
