It is always annoying when the renewal price for an insurance policy is significantly higher than the previous price. This is because companies say they discount new business. This happened to me when the renewal price was significantly higher than the previous year's and much more high than the results of comparison sites. What a great service then when with a phone call to cancel the renewal, I was offered a much better price which gave me the same policy but for nearly £30 cheaper than the renewal. At last some reward for being a loyal customer.
Although it takes time, it saves money to check alternative prices for policies on comparison websites before going back to challenge the renewal price.
